| Welcome to OP66 troboy. You only need three things to play poker. An opponent, lot's of practice and even more patience.
My advice mate is to go to the 'Fun Tournaments' tab and start on the low level 'Sit and Go' tables. Once you've built up a bit of a bankroll enter one of the tournaments also listed under the 'Fun Tournaments' tab.
You will find OP members very friendly and willing to give advice (also quite mad!) and check out the strategies thread on this forum, it's brilliant. If you have any questions just post them on the forum and you will get lot's of helpful replies.
For something a little different you could enter one of the freeroll games listed under 'Tournaments' then 'Freeroll/Specials' There's quite a few which are completeley free to enter so you won't have to risk any of your hard earned chips. But beware, at the beginning of these games lots of people will be betting wildly on poor or moderate hands hoping to get lucky and hit a good hand on the flop.
It's all good fun but can be a bit frustrating too. You will make mistakes and you will lose more games than you win, but that doesn't matter as long as you learn a tiny bit more each time. (geez I should take my own advice LOL)
If you stay around long enough you will find that the people on this site are what makes it better than any other poker site around.
Give it 12 months then go and thrash your father in law at poker mate, LOL, and hey if he likes poker tell him to join us too. The very best of luck to you mate, hope you enjoy the site and the people on it. |
