If you're waiting for 2 or 3 good hands, you may never get them lol, and you don't want to be up against others with larger stacks etc. Don't always wait for premium hands, play a few, see a cheap flop when the blinds are low, see what you hit. Bluff a bit, not constantly because you'll soon be found out. But still, patience is a virtue and don't put your chips at risk with hands that are good, but can be beat by someone else. If you have the nuts, however, go for it. My view of it anyway.

I am quite patient, I'm not saying I play hands like 2 7, just something half decent when it's cheap. As it goes further in, where the blinds are higher, you sometimes have to play hands which aren't brilliant.

What is everyone's view of a good hand anyway? Where's the divide between a good starting hand and a mediocre one?

I was a new player here when i posted this and that was my strategy for 2-3 millions. It is very good strategy for new players and smaller tables because you are new the others will follow your good hand and you will get many chips belive

i think the best way is to play most hands when you've got plenty of chips and read all the other players watch how they react to your moves and play them at there own games, you'll notice most of the players stick to one game stratergy so be versutile and try different ways, that will also make other players wery and you start to lead the pack. sorry about the spellings

personally i would say nothing is a good hand until you see the flop well unless you have high pairs.

(bonus 5)

Another fine thread... its a must read especially for a newbie like myself.

In the few weeks i have been playing i have learnt not to rush in, play at my own pace and not get drawn into the all-in-game at the start of a torny. I have notice several types of game play.. those that bet big at all times, those that chance their luck at the start of a torny and go all in, and those that tend to sit quite for a few rounds. Its those who tend to sit quite for a few rounds seem to make the last 3 in my opinion.
