Default How real is this site?

I am wondering how realistic is the play on the free site. Will this prepare someone to play in live tournaments or in live cash games?

I have observed the non-tournaments are not realistic. Everyone seems to want to go all-in on every hand. I just wait for a high probability of a winning hand and then I let the other players force me all-in. Every once in a while someone may hit two cards for a straight or something. But I usually have big winnings (compared to my buy-in) in a few hands.

I can not believe people play this way in real games at casinos.

the higher the buy in here the more realistic.
Still i would play a little safer in real money
As for real casino's it just depends on how much you respect your $$$

What is useful here is the opportunity to see many hands played out to get an intuitive feel for the odds of having a winning hand. I have begun playing low limit tables at a local casino, and especially with the limit tables you have to play tight since the stakes aren't enough to bluff someone out if they have a hand. Having a good feel for the odds has helped me win.

Thank you.

Actually I was visiting the states a month ago. I had been playing on this site for a few weeks. I went to Vegas and played to two touraments at Balleys. The first tournament I won and the second tournament I came in third. That one I was crippled by a bad beat.

I was wondering how much playing here was responsible for the results or how much was dumb luck.

I think playing online does help you get a feeling for odds on what your opponent could have and what you can make with your hand like straights and flushes.

But hey I am still a newbie all I did was play mini tours so far but the good thing is I went up from 2k to 32k in one day without bashing the all in and playing slot machines but by playing poker

This site does make you a better player especally on mini's because it teaches you how to read cards and players without seeing them in person.

Thank you for the compliment but I can't take credit for all of them. The moderators and members have given some very good advice and I just posted some of them. Hopefully we can continue to keep you updated on how to improve your game. The big benefit of this site is that you can post a question and get good advice and an answer to your question. This I assure will continue in the future.
