12-22-07- Tip of the day: Many begining poker players seem intent on losing their chips just one bet at a time. These kind of leaks in your game can add up very quickly. If you don't have any reason to think you have the best hand and you don't have a draw, give it up. Fold and wait for the next hand. Remember you are just learning the game and it is ok to lose. but it is more fun winning.

Hand of the day: 7c-4-2d-5h
Aanswer: (1) straight-4-5-6-7-8 (2) straight 3-4-5-6-7 (3)straight A-2-3-4-5 (4) three 7s (5) three 5s (6) three 4s (7) three 2s (8) 7s over 5s

12-23-07 Tip of the day: Poker is an intellectual game. Playing poker to win requires a lot of intense thought and on the spot analysis. You should make sure that you've done whatever you need to do in order to prepare for that.

12-26-07-Tip of the day: You don't have to be the best player at the table to win. Most of your chips will come from weaker players.Try to keep your chips away from stronger players, and don't play at tables that you have a very small chance of winning.

Your hole cards Jh-7h
board cards 3h-7s-Kh-Ac-10h

12-27-07 Tip of the day: THE QUICK CALL after the flop the player is most often on a drawing hand. Think about this, if he has a power hand the player will take time to figure how he or she will get the most chips in the pot. If he or she has a bad hand the player will take time to fold.

Hand of the day: your hole cards 8s-9s
the board: 7s-7h-5c-10s-Js lets do the best four hands.
Answer later today.
Answer: (1) straght flush 7s-8s-9s-10s-Js (2) pair 7s (3) J high

12-28-07-Tip of the day: Yesterdays tip was the quick call. The reason for that tip was to get you to think about timing your bets. You might be a fast player or a slow player it does not matter, as long as you always take the same amount of time to place your bet.

Hand of the day: your hand 9d-7h
the board Qs-9s 7c-7s-9c lets make four hands. Answer later today.
Answer (1) full house 9s over 7s (2)full house 7s over 9s (3) three 9s (4) three 7s

12-29-07-Tip of the day: IT'S OK TO FOLD, I see alot of players, play a hand to the river when they should have folded at the flop. This happens when a player has nothing to speak of after the flop and keeps on playing. Why take the risk of losing more chips in hopes that you will catch two runners on the turn and the river. The odds of that happening are very poor. I have watched some players, play to the showdown and did not have the board beat. Playing like that is a fast way to loose all your chips.

Hand of the day: As-Kd-9d-6c-4s
Your hole cards: 8c-Qd Answer later today
Answer: Ace high this is what is called a zero board or a nonboard.

Did anyone know that the best hand statistically to get a winning straight is a 10, jack. And obviously it is even better if it is suited.
Now thats a good tip.

12-31-07 Tip of the day: Lets talk about OUTS (the number of cards you can catch to make your hand a winner). Lets say your hole cards are As-10s and the flop is Qd-9h-Ac, at this point in the hand you have only two outs the two aces in the deck. Now lets change suits and see what happens. Your hole cards are still As-10s the flop is Qs-9s-Ac,now things have changed. You now have 9 more outs the nine spades to make a flush and the 2 aces in the deck, you now have 11 outs. Ok now the turn is the Kd your hand changes again, you just added 4 more outs to your hand. The 4 Jacks in the deck to make a straight, now you have 15 outs. You should keep the number of outs in mind every time you play a hand. This is the final step in reading a board. The board tells us what we have in our hands and what other players might have in their hands, also how many outs we have. Just remember that the more outs you have the better the odds you have of winning the hand.

Hi All, Great tips guy's.
I personally find when you start on a highish limit table when new players enter (1000) in chips- they tend to just go all in as soon as possible, maybe this is because they are not sure how to play or they are chancers wanting to double up and reset. When this happens in the past I have seen that they bet on any pair that they get drawn pre flop or complete rubbish, my tip is to see how much the bet is when most of the high stake players have either called or raised or folded because they can afford it. Avoid getting into to high preflop betting or you could end up out of the game. I have noticed the chances of winning preflop is to firstly not get drawn in with the flow. Let someone else take the chance, however a 3,4 of hearts or a Jack, eight can sometimes be better than a pair of aces this is a gambling game but dead certs are rare. I have lucked out many times when the 4th card is drawn but if i waited for the river my straight or flush came in. This is a hard chance to take depending on the betting. So to summarize be aware of high stakes before you see the first 3 cards then you have an idea of who is betting and how big, If you can see your hand is high with the 3 cards on the flop and then think what cards are in your apponents hand. You must always try to picture them with the highest pair or a pair in their hand, consider this and check until the next round of betting begins. If they are not strong they will check rather than bluff and keep betting.... you have to assume if there are a few people on the table with a high chip counts they have experienced pre flop bluffers and steam in to win. however you can drag them in to your way of winning there chips by say waiting for a very good hand like 88,JJJ full houseyou have a j and 8 and the flop and turn lands you in with a great chance, bet slow like 500 or below and at the end you steam all in this can be very effective, always bare in mind what they may have first. Good luck hope this bit of info helps... All the Best for 2008 Happy New Year!!!

1-8-08 Tip of the day:When playing at a normal table most of the time you have three types of players.
(1) Those who watch things happen.
(2) Those who make things happen.
(3) Those who don't know whats happening.
Those who watch things happen are called passive. Those who make things happen are called aggressive. Those who don't know what is happening are called clueless.
It is very important to know who's playing what type of game.

1-9-08 Tip of the day: You should never talk about your hands at the table past or present. This gives other players information on how you play and what cards you play. Never show your hand, the one exception to this is if you win on a bluff you can show them one time and one time only.

1-11-08 Tip of the day: When you enter a game have a plan, don't just sit down and play a luck game. When your are first starting to play holdem set up different plans so you can so you can learn what works and what doesn't. One might be I am not going to play low suited conectors today. another may be I am not going to draw to an inside straight today. one more may be if my hand is weak I will not draw to a flush on the river. There are so many things you can try another may be if I don't hit on the flop I will fold that hand today. There are two reasons I posted this. One is to try and get you out of playing the same game day in and day out. Two is to get you to take notes on what works and what doesn't.

Hand of the day:6h-7s-2s-Ad-9s answer later today.
Answer: flush Ace high then A K 9 7 2 then A Q 9 7 2 then A J 9 7 2 then A 10 9 7 2 THEN A 9 8 7 2
