What exactly is a "Big Tournamnet"?

I was checking the top tourney players lists on the main pageey say "Based on big tournaments only". so...what exactly is a big tourney?

the big tourny is when around 70 players play for the big pot. Like what you see on the tv. Here it can take around 2 -3 hrs to play, but can win 200k

theres 2 a day here, 1 at 1pm and 1 at 4pm. cost 5k to join. good to see how well you do against the big players

I thought it had to do with the $ amount of the tourney.

It is a multi-table tournament, usually 5 to 9 tables depending on how many players register. Tables keep getting combined as the players get eliminated, until there is only one table left in play.

when tournament starts is it only last person standing on each table that moves on to next table and so on until their is only one table left.

Not so duke the tables immediately start to combine when there are 5 sometimes 6 players left on them.
