As everyone knows it's almost ten years since that horrible day. I've been watching a documentary on British tv tonight about all the events that happened on the 11th September 2001 in America. It's just as sad and terrifying to me as it was ten years ago.
I was very shocked to see this posted on another site by a friend of mine. I didn't respond but removed it so I couldn't see any more. this friend of mine isn't a silly kid, he's in his 40's. very strange someone could have this conspiracy theory.

Well in all fairness... its not the oil in Iraq that they got out of it... its the fear they have spread out through many people, and we all know that people in fear will abide to anything. Kind of like picking a get out of jail card in monopoly....you might not need it now but you might need it later.
Furthermore, it allows them to carry on this agend which is "war on terror" LOL
And thats why I always find the news quite funny

The true facts about that horrible day will never be known. Whatever caused it , it was a stain on humanity, and a day that will live in the minds of every decent person on this planet whatever their beliefs.

Maybe I'm a bit simple. No conspiracy or hidden agenda, just plain straightforward well planned, well organised terrorism for the sake of their cause. I think it's as simple as that but maybe I'm wrong. Either way it was terrible and the instigators are scum.

I watched the same program last night and like you it still hit me hard.
When I watched it as it was happening although horrific the entirety and reality of the hell that the people went through did not really sink in as it did for many others It seemed like you were watching a hollywood blockbuster.

I watched the program on the fireman's story the night previous and the children who had lost parents stories during the week and still it still seems incredulous that such an atrocious act could and did happen.

I do not think there was a conspiracy, it was just a very well planned and very well executed attack which must have took years of infiltration and planning to expose and use all of the loopholes in the security systems that they did.

It was a horrific act of violence against many innocent people not as a part of war, where soldiers know what they are facing but against ordinary people going on about their normal day.

Though I think it should not have come as a total unseen scenario after the Lockerbie incident. Could that have been a trial run?

It will never be forgotten and nor should it be, it will forever cast a shadow over those who lost family or friends and those who watched it.

oh come on it was definitely a conspiracy. That's what it's called when two or more ppl get together to perform an unlawful act for what ever reason. They flew two planes into the twin towers and would have flew a third into the white house if the ppl aboard had not given up their lives to stop. This was out and out terrorism. We will definitely never know the whole story, and maybe according to some facts it could have been stopped but I am just thankful it did not go any further.

One downed by the passengers in Shanksville, Pennsylvania... (possible) target being the White House, but we'll never really know on that one.

As for "conspiracy theorists", there are plenty of movies out there now that have dramatized the events of 9/11. Many of the common "theories" that have been put forward (often by left-leaning liberals in the country) have been scientifically de-bunked. As has been noted by previous posters, what is clear is that the terrorists didn't just show up and carry out this atrocious act... it was years and years in the planning... carefully orchestrated and deeply infiltrated into society (probably for 10 years), they accomplished what they set out for... a spectacular attack that would put the world on its ear in fear.

Let's not forget... it wasn't the first attack on the towers... some will forget the '93 attack... what was reprehensible was the US response (hint: there wasn't one!).

It is clear that as we approach the 10th anniversary of this horrific event that wounds will be opened on those who lost loved ones... I hope and pray that the media will not overhype exposure, dramatic replays of the planes flying into the towers, etc., so as to minimize the hurt on these people. We as a nation, and clearly all of the allies, will not forget. Those who 'forget' history are doomed to repeat it (ala, my reference to the '93 incident).
