2010 your year

2010 has been a real mixed up year for me,work wise the loss of my job brought hardship,but its on the mend and ive took the plunge to start a new business,early days yet but hopefull for 2011.
home life and its the start of my 29th year with the mrs to me thats great and hope to have many more years with the one i love,also great news that both my daughters are expecting babies so two more grand children before xmas very happy days.
health wise been good just a bad back that took a month to get better.
poker wise,you all know i like a good moan when things do not go right on op66,but realy do love this place and have never gone anywhere else to play.have got my medal tally up to 87,and a tourney ave of around 4 so happy with that,cash side dont play to much at the mo but im up on cash since the start of the year.
enough of me now how is your year been?

2010 had the worst beginning imaginable with the loss of my father in law on the 9th of January to cancer. The support and love shown by family, friends and OP friends have gotten us through and for that I am truly grateful.
Work has gotten crazier if thats possible, with a promotion and training for another possible promotion in 2011. It keeps me out of trouble I suppose
Poker never seems to change for me....a fun up / down roller coaster ride with no destination in mind, just to see friends and have a good time.
2011 my son will get his licence....and thats about the time I will triple in grey hair and wrinkles lol.
I hope all my friends and family get their wishes for 2011.....they are the best and deserve nothing but the best...love you all xxx

2010 has been good to me have my job which pays the bills. Have my kids and grand children that are all well. my leroy5 found a job which im so happy for him. my healths good.
Also got to meet some of the Aussie players we had a great weekend. Something that i wont forget in a hurry the great people we play against. And the family we have on this site. Yes it has its problems but it us that make op66 not management its the people.
2011 is looking even better travelling to England to meet Keith for the first time in march and hope to meet a few of you too. Big step for me never been overseas before. So an exciting time for me.

Terrible year be glad to see the back of it, terrible 3 years really.

I got pneumonia 3 years ago, was very bad, took me 6 months to get better, that's how I started here, don't think I was fully better when I went to the first op66 party.
Since then health wise not to good including the swine flu with bad chest last winter, that floored me and summer this year another chest infection nearly saw me off again, really scared me, two weeks before the London party I was still breathless and dizzy, thought I wouldn't make the party at all, but lucky I seem to get well in time.

While all this has been going on my mother was very ill and I had to fight with the hospital for her care and spent a lot of time at the hospital and later nursing home making sure she was ok.

Then the morning of my birthday I'm opening cards when the phone ring, the nursing home, you need to come now and your mother needs a priest.
She lasted till 5.55 am Monday morning and I stayed and was with her when she died, so I was thankful she didn't die alone.
Few stresses with family but hey that life.

Poker wise, not a bad year, my average is well up, but still make silly mistakes lol Oh think I have blonde moments lolol and not enough gold grr lol
I too love this place and all you guys, its been my place away from the troubles in my life and I thank you all for putting up with me xxx

I have now come to the conclusion, that life too short and I'm going to live it to the full woop xxx

Great thread telboy, wish you lots of success in your new busines, you have always been a gentlemen and an asset here on op66.

As far as my business life goes, im a risk taker, have been all my life. It seems to have payed off, for me that is, 2010 has been one of my best years, health, family and business all doing well.

Nice to hear you are getting more grandchildren for christmas, wow what a great gift idea.

Well i will be glad to see the back of 2010 sick of hearing bad news

my 2 aunties and cousin have had cancer so they have been very ill in and out of hospital,so they have been testing my mum as they are her sisters which was very scary and horrible for me as i dont know what i wud do without her she is my life

We found out my mum has got arthuritous and gets alot of pain in her hands now and again which is horrible to see as some times she can hardly lift anything

september i got a permanent job at the hospital where i live and i love it the staff are great

my health hasent been very good I am just getting over a very bad virus still dont feel 100% but im alot better than i was,i also found out i have ibs- irrible bowel sydrome so i have to watch what i eat and drink (i dont think so)

My niece has been getting bullied at school which has now stopped thank god,otherwise i told her i will go to that school and deal with it myself i hate bullies

Other than that i have a wonderful family and friends and the most wonderful boyfriend i cud ever wish for

I will be so happy to see the close of 2010...It has been one of the worst years of my life...and I really don't have anythin' good to say 'bout it. All year it has been one thing after another...Started last January...my daddy (father) died. Husband has been in & out of the hospital, BTW was in the hosp. when my daddy died along with my momma...Yep all 3 were there at the same time.
Husband is in & out of the hosp. due to a spider bite and it affected his liver and he will never get over that, therefore he can't return to his occupation that has always supported our family. That has affected us bad finacially...so after bein' married for 13yrs. I have had to go to work so we can survive...which has been a huge adjustment for me. However I don't mind, cause I do like my job. Even though I'm still just a nurse tech. Hope to finish school soon, so I'll have my R.N. license.
My papa (grandfather) died this month.
I could keep goin', but I think yall can see what a year it has been...
I can't wait to say good riddance to 2010....and HELLO 2011!

Well as you all know the end of the year is among us again, what are you most thankful of. I am thankful for my family and friends here on OP66 and my doggies, I want to thank all my friends here for making this year full of laughs, exciment, maddness, saddnes, and sometimes tears, but without this we would just be another site. You guys are like my second family and for this I am thankful GOD BLESS you all.

Well it's been an enjoyable learning curve here on op66, trying to figure out when it is best to post and not to post "that is the question"!

Hubby got a promotion and is doing well, allowing me to lose a few cents/dollars on the site.

Health wise it has been a bit dodgy due to go into hospital on the 8th for an angiogram, hopefully they will sort things soon.

Looking forward to Christmas this year, a little different, hubby is taking me to a Hotel so that for the first time in 33yrs I won't have to cook Christmas lunch.

I wish you all the happiest Christmas and all the very best for the coming New Year.

Well this years hasn't been great more downs then ups(I dont think i have had a up never been so down dont realy have the of love anything i did before but well it will change i hope) but there's a new year coming and i hope that somewhere god has a plan for me or maybe just a start of one.

Sad to hear not everyone's 2010 has treated them well... but good to hear those who has.
Just goes to show you how different lives we all lead, and yet together we are drawn here as equals on op66, the place that many of us has thought of as a 2nd family

My 2010 has been mostly good. I passed my A levels with decent grades (not exactly all A's, but hey ho) and landed myself a place here in Sheffield Hallam Uni, not too far from home I also have had the great pleasure of meeting fellow member CraigSimnett since moving here, a top bloke, not too old or short () and whos wife has seen better days but is recovering from her operation. I wish them the best.

I also travelled up to Bonnie Aberdeen on a memorable 9 hour bus trip to see the buddha and family and friends for a weekend Was great fun, and would like to go again soon....AND I PROMISE I WILL TRY AND MAKE IT TO SOME OF THE OP66 PARTIES NEXT YEAR! up to now it seems i've looked for excuses not to go e.g. too far away, too busy, inconvenient

My 2010 for op66 has been a good one, although had plenty of time off earlier this year in the shape of 3/4 months (bet you all loved it ) My medal tally is at 26 (10 gold), but to say my medal rate is 1 in 4 of my total tournies played, and average at 5+, that aint bad huh

Home life, well, me mum and step dad have only recently just broke up (last week). But all the time back home for quite a while there was noise, heat, anger and tension and I just couldn't wait to leave. Now I have left, they've finally broke up....seems they waited for me huh

But, C'est la vie

I wish you all many happy returns for the up and coming year, but between now and then, have a very merry yuletide

Thanks tel for this thread,giving us a short summary of evryone´s life during the year.
For me, 2010 was quite a good year. Passing over some health trouble of my parents in the first quarter, dealing with my own illness, but compared to others i am doing well, so no reason to complain about.
work wise,well my own company doesnt run that good, so i had to look for other opportunities and thankfully i found a good, well payed job wich is fitting to my schedules.
Love wise, after i joined this site, i now can say i found someone who cares for me, and thats the most lovliest thing i have experienced since years...
poker wise... hmhmh, i am still a newbie, but i enjoy playing here so much, and i started to knick some chippies, lol.
Thank you all for being as you are, the op 66 is a great enrichment to my life.

hmmm. after reading some of the above post's i know i don't
really have anything to complain about.
i'm lucky to be in work in good health and expecting 2nd
grand child in april '11.

got a wonderful wife great kids and a wonderful grandson.

poker wise.. never take it too seriously (tho maybe i should lol)
love to play the main tournies if i win a medal brilliant..

but if i reach final table i know i'm mixing it with some of the site's
top player's and that's an achievement in it's self good luck to all in 2011.
