iv wanted to make this for a while but have been in two minds

ok............so we are on a gambling site which should mean 18+ yet the forum is for all ages. we are treated like children because there could be children viewing.

also we have the joke section where everything goes but you need a password...........yet the world and his wife knows it.

so my whole point is along with the joke section can we have a adult section?

ive never understood why the site is supposed to be over 18 but yet the forum isnt and lets face it, there is nothin to stop my 11 an 8 yr old daughters from signing up.

I see your point, but it's not just children that do not want to read inappropriate/x-rated material (words or pictures).

totally agree. its a bit undermining being scolded for saying a naughty word...afterall, i am 26 most of us dont do it anyway, but sometimes it duz 'slip out' i dont see why the forum is for all ages anyway..it belongs to a gambling site where people discuss gambling. i wudnt like my 13 year old coming on and learning the basics of poker...there shud definitely be age restrictions

ok, i'll try and answer to the best of my ability, if i make a mistake i apologise.

at first,OP66 was a FREE poker site, no cash tables, so no gambling laws to adhere to, so on 1st script members of ANY age was allowed to join, use forum and tables.

then if you remember, real money table started on the old PIT script, to use them you had to be over 18(UK) not sure on US laws.

so then we had the situation of minors able to use forum and free tables, but not cash.

then the first move to PIT script, made things really complecated, as extra personal info was required to sign up, so technically everyone needed to be age of consent to join and play either play or cash tables.

then now second move to current script/tables,

again were back to a similar set up as first script, i.e

anyone can sign up to a PLAY money account with minimal personal information, and as far as i am aware there is NO age limit.

BUT

for a REAL MONEY account you have to provide alot more PERSONAL information and MUST be age of consent to gamble.

both PLAY and REAL MONEY accounts auto generate a forum account, hence minors(people of any age) could have a forum account, so thats why the forum cannot be classed as ADULT only, hence has to have and be ran/administrated as open to all ages.

hmmmmm does this make sence ???

to be fair to all because it is a website anyone of any age can log on and use all the site and hard to police because of this so there will always be conflictions about what pics there are in peoples profile pages and what is written on forum, but most of us do our best to control what we are doing wether in pics or written form, so lets try and keep it that way

BTW....In South Carolina gambling is illegal.
Carolinians have to go to the next state to gamble, where the age to even go in the casino is 21.
IMO....The parents should monitor what sites their children are going to.
Although, I know you can't keep tabs on everything they do.
If you google have a nice day, they (children) are going to be exposed to everything. My thing is most of the kids know more than some adults....I know, it's sad, but it is a fact.
We only have had a comp. in my house now for 2 years for this very reason.
People that want to see xxx stuff and post xxx stuff, can always join "The Dirty Girls Club".

The kids are smart enough to lie to get onto the money tables, so we can't stop them.

I personally come here to play poker, not see porn. I can go to another site for that. Kids or no kids, this is a poker site and should be kept as one.

lmao...too funny!...In my opinion its not only children that can be traumatized by some of these pics its the ADULTS as well...some of it is pretty bad...I like sc's idea have one place for all those who like to post and view that type of thing go to one place then those who don't want to see if won't be offended...but to make it easier for all of us "Guys just go buy yourself a playboy or a penthouse and keep it to yourselves...by yourselves...everbodys happy then....hehehe

OK, I read up...seen what you are talking about.
But, if you don't have some kind of rules in place, what kind of place would it be?
Now I very seldom get offended, mainly because it's just life. I'm sorry, I took you as being treated like a child, because you can't just do whatever you want. I don't believe threads should just get erased, because of the content. UNLESS, It's hurting someone. There will never be a way to please everyone. My thought is, if you don't like the language or the content, just close it. I personally don't see a child reading these post. I would hope they got better things to do.

Another idea...start your own club, and do invites only. Just an Idea, that away you can have discussions on adult topics. The members would have to be invited...and not just a button to press (join group), if you want to be a member.
