The anti memory implant

With millions to spend on technology these days,
I put forward my plans for the computer craze.
The older of us need some help with our brain,
Forgetting's a disease that I feel we could train.
I've drawn out a blueprint for an implant no less,
That would in an instant confound all our stress.

A micro chip set in the part of our brain,
That let's us forget and can cause us such pain.
This device would make us forget we'd forgot,
Thus our memory lapses wouldn't matter a jot.
Imagine your joy when you forgot what's his name,
It just wouldn't matter, It'd be all the same.

I've forgotten to remember to forget where I went,
When I bought a few luxuries, and I'm sure overspent.
Tomorrow when I remember to forget what I've done,
At last with this breakthrough the old will have won.
All this science I'm sure has gone over your head,
But what you dreaded to forget will no longer cause dread.

It would to a point, this great breakthrough of mine,
But there could be some problems, it could get out of line.
Maybe it wouldn't be all that it seems,
We'd forget to forget all our nightmarish dreams.
Instead of forgetting, you'd remember your fears,
It would be the demise of eccentric old dears.
