What a great spirited performance from Australia today, they would not lie down. Great to win the ashes back again, I did start to doubt it before the 2 rather curious run outs.

Its a shame that the result of the SW6 derby went the wrong way otherwise my day would have been complete.

Congrats England. We'll be back!! Men with scars are HOT so atleast Ponting is coming back with a few war wounds of his own. I can't say I'd enjoy a cricket ball thrown at my face. I'm proud that he took it like a man.
With all the greats that we have lost in the last few years, the strain of that is finally showing. Hopefully next ashes we can rise to the challenge. Enjoy your trophy. We'll be back to claim what's righfully OURS.

vwp to the aussie's but very glad to see we pulled through...watching broad bowl on fire on that day was fantastic, though i sadly missed the rest of the final test

Yep - It was very well played by the poms, we let ourselves down at some critical points, 20-20 and one day cricket turns everyone into sloggers - where are the guys who can stay at the wicket for days when required (and I acknowledge G Boycott as the master of this) a lost art (in Australia anyway)
