| Interestingly enough "Hendrix" was brought over to the UK by Chas Chandler on a promise of meeting Eric Clapton back in 1966, but when EC first saw "Hendrix" play he was totally blown away with his performance that realised himself that he would never be able to play quitle like him, and in fact his own confidence took a bit of a knock.[/QUOTE] jockney, if you refer to my post on page one of this thread, you'll find there's a reel to reel of clapton and hendrix having a jam session, quite possibly from this meeting you mention. unbelievable recording. hmmmmmm. i wonder if chas's son even knows it exists, i think it might be worth rather a lot of money, not that alex actually needs it. i might just mention it next time i see him. |

| Skynrd Lynrd is a good canidate.. But Santana is definitely up there no question. also, breaking it down into a more specific category: speed metal the best speed metal guitarist ever is Herman Li, hands down (dragonforce)
