| In Portland Oregon of the United States,A 19 yr old was arrested on charges of attempting to set off a bomb,at A Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.Fortunately the plan was thwarted by the FBI.They were able to infiltrate his plan, and sell him a fake bomb.He carried out the plan, parking a van near thousands of spectators, walked a couple blocks down the road and got out his cell phone to detonate the device. That was when the FBI agents got him.Can you just guess what religion he might be? Oh cmon guys just guess? Its an easy one!He is Muslim!!!!!Hmmmmmmmmm who else would try to kill scores of Christians trying to celebrate the Birth of Christ.Thank God our intelligence people over here are on the ball. What scares me though is that I think it is only a matter of time that one slips through the cracks. |

| Just to be clear, Chuck... the facts are a bit different... but Oklahoma City bombing was orchestrated by one, Timothy McVeigh. Now, he targeted Americans, many of whom would've been Christian. And McVeigh was raised Roman Catholic. Just one example... |

| what about jim jones hes was a a protestant christian,he gave out free koolaid to he own people.or the catholics priest u been reading about for the last 15 or 20 years.there all christians,to blame all christians wouls be crazy.remember its just a few who pervert, what to most is a good thing, suposed to be ment to spread good will to others.one bad apple and all that stuff mom used to say.and some of u will say its not one bad apple, but compared to all the people who have a religion,or even just the muslums, its still a small percent who mean anyone else harm. maybe its time we all stop folowing others ,and just do what we know is right,"do to others ,what we want them to do to us"!!!!! |

| Yes, Chuck... McVeigh was upset with the government over Waco and Ruby Ridge, but remember he expressed no remorse over the deaths of children (he referred to them as collateral damage). Further, McVeigh kept an attitude even leading up to his execution saying the score would still be 168-1 and that he'd be the victor. He was quoted as saying "I am sorry these people had to lose their lives. But that's the nature of the beast. It's understood going in what the human toll will be." So there is relevancy to my point here... And quite "frankly", Frank summed it up very nicely what I was really trying to discreetly point out that to stereotype a religion or any group of people over extremism is a very dangerous and slippery slope. Good dialogue, though... cheers, Chuck! |

| muslim officer shoots and kills his own at Fort Hood in Texas, muslim trained youth screws up possible explosion in times square, now portland youth (muslim) has been thwarted trying to kill innocent people.I guess my point is they are here. They hate the western world, they hate our way of life.In each of theses stories, people close to these perpetrators said it was the last thing they ever thought they would be guilty of.I saw an Interview with this young mans cleric in Portland. He said this young man was a model Muslim very nice young man he said, the cleric could not believe this boy tried this.Well my friends their gettin trained somewhere and they are eventually going to succeed. It only takes a spark to get a fire going.Just ask Hitler!I realize there are to sides to this issue, and believe me I want to think that its a small minority, But I Dont. |

| There is good and bad in all folks, religious or otherwise. I abhor violence of any kind and wish we could all respect each other's right to be on this earth. We are obviously seen as a threat to their way of life, how is this perceived by them we should ask? We are all equal but some have been long forgotten on this earth. Those in poverty in our own countries let alone those in third world ones. So let us be thankful that in this case no-one was hurt and that your government did a good job! We need to make friends and influence immigrants not antagonise them but encourage them to mix in the community. What are we so afraid of? This is my opinion, not aimed at anyone or any country. xxsymxx ![]() |

| Does it seem strange to anyone else that with all the creative ways we find to hate people who are not like us, that the majority of the media coverage would put these haters into one of two boxes, religious or racial? I know Muslims who are just fine folks, but they are not on a jihad to eradicate all people who are not Muslim, like them. I also know Christians who are armed to the teeth and would not hesitate to protect their way of life. Seems to me that feelings run deep when it comes to religion and social systems, so that is how those who want to lead enrage others to do their nefarious bidding. Wouldn't it be nice if we just took personal responsibility for our own actions and behaved accordingly?

| I believe you are correct on that. Also funny thing is that the setting of a fire at the mosque where the bomber attended seems to have gotten more press here than the actual attempted terrorism. Hmmmmm
