Bye for Now

I think the time has come for me to say bye to OP66 at least for a good while.

Over the past 2+ years I have had some great times, made some great friends, enjoyed some great poker and have been privileged to meet some brilliant people.

The site has in my opinion steadily declined over the last year , technically the holes are now becoming more obvious and more frequent. While the mods continue to do a brilliant job their hands are tied with the technical side of things and Lava has shown little or no interest for the last 6 months or so, I cant see things getting better any time soon.

Features that were promised have failed to materialise such as download for Macs, a new chat room and features that were stable or were available “flash player” , Poker points tournaments etc no longer are.

The community side is now starting to show the same decline despite the best efforts of some of the members to keep it a fun , interesting, informative and vibrant place.

Over the last few months I have bitten my tongue in the hope that things would start to improve however I see no green shoots to show signs of recovery.

I will still pop in every now and again and may play the odd game or two.

Of the groups that I am leader (and done sod all with) I will be asking others to take over to do with as they will. (Credits for prizes will follow if you accept)

Awwww cuddycat. Reading this has brought a tear to my eye. I have not been real close to anyone on this site, partly because I have never actually met anyone other than on line and partly because of my location (Seattle). No one else from the same area. But I must tell you that I have enjoyed your company on line and thoroughly enjoyed your posts and cat pictures. Sometimes you don't know how much you impact others and I just wanted to let you know you will be missed (A LOT).

Take care Cuddy...You were one of the first ppl. I met when I first came here...and I really hate to see ya sayin' ya goodbyes, but also know there is no-way anyone could convince ya to stay...(ya stubborn cat) . lol
But wanted to tell ya to take care of yourself and best wishes to you, and will look forward to seein' ya again....
Something I don't understand is with so many of goodies leavin', and a mod pointed out to me, even tho ppl. are leavin' there is more joinin'...the thing is we are loosin' the best people here...and this makes me very sad. ...I sure hope somebody takes notice...Unless they prefer "drive-thru" vs. faithful, great ppl.

I fully agree with what you said and the number of new people joining may be more than 'us oldies' leaving, but its the oldies that remember what OP was first like and about....and we dont like change too much, especially when its not what we were expecting or having things not happen that we were told will be.

Hi Cuddy, you're leaving before the book is finished hun and you one of the co-stars along with Filipa, Pussygal will not sound the same now, damn, but I know how you feel, too much of a good thing can turn sour if the standard drops and in my short time here it seems to have gone downhill somewhat. You must keep popping in then you can claim your copy once it's finished, it's a very funny book , much better than I expected to be honest. Take care hun, I'm sure we'll see you again at some stage.
