Default Chelsea v Barca fiasco

First of all any one who knows me on this site will know i am a Man United fan but i feel i need to comment on last nights game.

Chelsea fans must be gutted because in my opinion they should have had definitely two penalties and maybe three (not the five that is being claimed). Saying that Barca shouldnt have had a man sent off.

Chelsea also should have finished the game and have to blame themselves for that.

Over the two games i thought Chelsea were more tactically sound and i dont subscribe to this theory that they went to Spain and smothered and bullied Barca. I am sick to death of this bleating from the Barca players who seem to think that they have a god given right to win - Chelsea's tactics were perfect in both games. Yes Barc had 70% possession at the bridge but all of it was meaningless passing in the second third. Chelsea had all the chances.

Next point though i am affraid is more negative. Ballack and Drogba were an absolute disgrace and the worst example to young players i have seen.

Frank Lampard showed how to behave with dignity - he had the look of absolute desolation on his face but managed to keep his composure and swap shirts with iniesta while wishing him luck. Hiddink was also composed and has proved what a top manager he is over the two legs.

Even Ashley Cole kept out of the mire so hopefully the Respect campaign is getting through to the English players at least.

As a United fan though i can honestly say i am happier to playing Barca then Chelsea as i think Chelsea proved Barca's defensive frailities (although failed to capitalise).

Its looking like a lot of Barcas plaudits have come from the performances in the Spanish league which at the moment is the weakest it has been for many years.

They are obviously flat track bullies who dont like it up em

Champions league final Man United 3 Barcelona 1

unfortuanatly there's games from time to time, that this happens in.

maybe its time for football to bring in a video replays (video ref) like rugby has.

i fully understand it could, but maybe for ball crossing line for goal, and penalty decisions, they would not take long to do

I think that video refs would take something out of the game. Not so much the play but the discussions after. Football has always been about opinion and debate and video refs would take some of that away. Lets face it there is a difference of opinion on how many penalties should have been given last night and the "experts (some being refs)" seem to vary between 1 pen and 5 pens.

Also you still have these Spurs fans who really believe that ball crossed the line a few years ago when in fact Roy Carroll made an excellent save to give Utd the result and deprive Spurs of a European place

And we also have the English fans who still reckon the ball was over the line in 1966....that Ref was not Russian was he lol

It was a good example of hold up, shame on the referee for this match....

but Chelsea had to play on the second half and not let the Barça do the game.. too dangerous with them..

Anyway we've seen nice matchs since the beginning of this champion's league
