Hello. Posted the "porn star name" thread. Stjimmy says that he and King Pete did this one about 6 months ago and my thread was promptly closed! Well I didnt see it and anyone who joined op66 5 months ago didnt either! Its had 50 plus hits so maybe let it run and see what happens. Regards, Wooly.

There is a search tool which will allow you to see if a thread has already been started.

Most people know how to use Google and the like, the search tool here works much the same.

If you did that, you would be able to post to the existing thread and it would appear in the new threads category.

Though it does smack of double standards that the second thread was allowed to remain open, whilst yours was closed.

Can i just say the thread ran once before started by KP and it was hilarious while it lasted. Pure innocence maybe got a bit misconstrued. I loved it but im sayin nowt more on the subject of 'Adult Entertainment'! End of. lol i get into trouble an i been banned once (or woz twice lol) Take care. Easy enough to solve. Sixth button from the left is the SEARCH button, try using it. Type in "adult" among other threads you will see the following thread:
you`re adult movie name...

Shall I tell you what it is? I posted this thread in good faith. I think I've been s**t on big time. I accept that the thread may have been posted before by SJ and KP. All I asked was to let mine run and see how it goes. No! SJ reopened an old thread and closed mine. AND BM gave me instructions on how to check on previous threads! Here's a tip. I think MackemWooly has been hard done to here...
He started a thread in good faith.
There was a similar thread but this had been inactive since October 2008.
MW's thread was getting quite a few posts.
Mods have criticised people for bringing up old threads.

Are you seriously suggesting we must check before we start a thread in case a similar one was started last year ?
I think Macken is owed an apology, but don't hold your breath mate.

as this is a forum mw has the right to question why his thread was deleted,as he was told this thread had already been done,but however it was not the same but similar,my question is why is it not possible to duplicate threads and let them run,after all i for one hadnt seen the original so was quite interested in it without going to the trouble of searching last years threads,just an opinium.

I agree Dav ,MW has the right to question why his thread was closed (not deleted as you stated), which he did, however as his question was answered I would have expected that to be the end of it, but it seems that "Closed Threadgate" is now going to become a drama.

So I now have a dilema .

My instinct is to close this thread as I believe that there is nothing further to debate on the matter. Or should I leave it open for everyone to add their opinion ?

As you've questioned me, sir, and as this thread is still open I'll expand on my thoughts.
Jimmy's thread had been inactive since Oct '08.
MW's new thread was receiving interest including a post from Jimmy joining in, so why close it.
If Jimmy's thread was still going then I would agree a duplicate should be closed, but it was not.
To me 'common sense' was to leave it as only one thread was running.

I am one of the 1st to sit and grumble to myself when some1 does a thread that has already bn done, but yet none of those have bn closed just look now theres 2 on for the ashes both posted within mins of each other but has 1 of those bn closed NO the other day I came on and there was one that had bn done not so long ago, personally I just think you lot pick and chose. If it getting hits then whats the problem why not close the old thread that no 1 was looking at and leave the new 1 open
