Concerning the Forums, and your role in them

I m not talking about joke threads. I m talking about jokes that are out of topic and i m talking about posts.
And i m apologizing too you for making this thread into fight. I know you want too help and i know it is in TOS and i know that most of us were posting spam in threads for some time( out of topic joke with not many words). And if everybody will get warning(infraction) for this than i have nothing vs it as long others accept this rules too(with that i mean other mods and players that were doing this too).

ok i went back reread it yes he did and i will most likly get banned for this statement no one else will shaunloveskerry you spam more than anyone else you think a answer with another and a nother and another is not spamming lol that is what we talking about kick me befriend me what ever u have answered most posts with a conversation not pertaning to post I love this site shaun as well but lets get real as carmine said send me the hate mail

all i will say is LOL i have rarely been on the past few weeks as i got bored of the idiots on tables that abuse people and the fights at KOTH with the cheating it went to far got loads of people into trouble and was stupid from the start..check my posts of late u will see only one on a game and that was to see how the game was going and most my posts are on threads helping people or congratulating them on their acheivements whatever they may be either wining golds or reaching the mill but i will add now u have started being an a$$ on this thread u have caused me to spam an interesting thread

Danzi, this thread has become an excellent example of what is acceptable and what is not. I am getting better results than I originally expected, and you have contributed greatly to that. Thank you. As all can see from this post here, it is very easy for language differences to be a factor. A simple misunderstanding can cause a great deal of turmoil. We must all do our best to make our points clear, and we should not criticize or mock somebody who is trying their best to express their opinion. I still do not understand why you keep mentioning infractions. Allow me one more chance to clarify. I very rarely will issue an infraction. When I do so, it is because I have noticed repeated incidents of whatever may have caused me to take notice of a members posting style. Whether it be spamming, abuse, harrassment, inappropriate language, or whatever.... I use infractions basically as an easy way of PMing that member to inform them that they have gained my attention, and are in some way being disruptive to the Forums. If I were to issue an infraction for each incident, we would have a lot fewer members. For me to issue an infraction, is very similar to the Police Officer who lets you drive off with a warning. You should not complain to that Officer, and you should not complain to me. There have been hundreds, perhaps thousands of times where I have EDITed members posts to remove one or two bad words out of an otherwise acceptable post. I should not have to do that. By all rights, I could issue infractions, or even ban for inappropriate content. I do not do that. I make the minor change because it is not my intent to punish, it is my intent to clean up the Forums. Sorry to keep repeating myself, but it is obvious that some need to hear it more than a few times. When I find ridiculous spam comments, or off topic remarks, I COULD issue infractions, but I do not, unless I see it often from that member. I simply delete such items in order to clean up the thread. Now, I am asking ALL members of OP66 to help me. Please stop spamming informational areas of the forum, so that I may have more time to play POKER. Please keep ALL Forums free of foul language (including replacing letters with characters to simulate bad words) you are not fooling anybody that way, and it is still rude and unacceptable. Try to be nice, it really is not that difficult once you get used to it. And if anybody would like to receive an infraction, just PM me, I would be happy to oblige. They truly are harmless, until you accumulate a number of them. And no, I will not say that number. Just let it be known that if you reach that number, the system will do the banning so the Mods won't have to.

sorry to any friends or folks ive had a good time with at the tables. i fairly new here and seems to me that there is not a single person (member) that owns this *free fun site*

so seems to me that lots of laughs and great fun at tables for free is worth doin whatever is asked.

OK time to add my two pennies worth ,
I think one of the main problems with the forum is that people dont read the original threads, therefore causing posts that drift way off topic , another point i would like to make , is the fact that members do not post in the appropriate section , ie they created a new section for jokes BUT PEOPLE STILL POST JOKES in the "general Discussion " section (its not rocket science is it )
I personally dont get involved with the Games type posts ,but obviously they are very popular, so it makes sense to give them their own section , but that would be a waste of everyones time if people continue to post in the wrong section ,
The forums have definitely taken a dive in recent months , but with just a little consideration ,and thought , they can be brought back to the interesting AND fun place they used to be

Just another two pennies worth ( allow for inflation ) and NOT singling anyone out here ,
Is there REALLY any need for "birthday " threads , these seem to be a recent trend ,bought about (IMO) by members noticing whose birthday it is ,and then posting a thread ,knowing it will get replies even when the member whose birthday it is has not been active for weeks ,IE FISHING FOR CREDITS .( As I said NOT mentioning anyone in particular )Surely if you want to send birthday wishes then you can post on their profile ( much more personal to my way of thinking )

I am sure that you are correct with some of these types of posts. But we have no problem with the Birthday threads. It is a part of what gives this site the "Family" feeling. Most replies to these threads, I believe, are genuine. But, of course, there will be those who see it as an easy way to increase their post count by responding with their simple two word reply of "Happy Birthday". This is one of the circumstances where I would rather see a more proper reply. If you truly want to pass on well wishes, then take the time to personalize your message to the recipient. Myself, if I am not well acquainted with the person, I will not reply to the thread. If it is somebody I am familiar with, I will take the time to offer my own personal message to them on their special day. I believe I brought up the point earlier of people replying to a birthday thread that is several weeks old......

I won't name the poster to avoid any possible embarrasment ( I'm sure if he sees this, he will remember ).

However, I accept that I further responded, and my response was just as much off topic.

For me this all happened before I stumbled across this thread. Having read all of this thread, I am entirely in agreement with your intentions and will adhere to the best of my abilities. I just put this example above into this thread to show how easy it is for people to go off topic. Personally I like the humour it entails and would be sorry to see that aspect lost from the forums.

The motivational posters thread has been moved to the kids free zone of the forum (thankyou texan)

in the kids free section which is passworded you will find content that is rude vulgar and offencive to some

as for the motivational posters there are strict warnings from at least two moderators not to post anything obscene or with swearing or foul language

the password for the kids free zone can be requested from a moderator or from anyone that has it (i checked on that bit)

Ok I've read all of the above and to be quite honest if I had just joined the site or as a relative newbie of under a year. I would think twice about posting anything of any length.

There has been a good spirit within the forum on the postings albeit now and again items are misunderstood.

In my experience as an oldy, that is what life is about!

Adult sections are a good idea with regard to explicit photos and language. I can assure you I will have no intention of going into them. Light hearted games are fun and allow everyone to participate surely that is the reason for the forum - everyone can participate!

We can write reams of technical stuff on poker- great - I leave that to the guys who appear to know what they are talking about -I read it and gather as much from it as I can before I fall asleep lol.

The idea that I will receive an infraction or sending off at my time of life ----------- well I honestly find that challenging ---- how many before we are banned ------------ what fine will we pay ------- how many nights in an imaginary jail ---------- and i'm certain as a game this could be added to.

Please don't misunderstand me Carmine, the Uk just voted out the nanny state so that we could gain more freedoms.
