Default Cumbria Floods

Just been speaking to my sister shes got off relatively lightly , The car has gone bye bye and everything in the garage including the motorbikes and horsey stuff is ruined.

The house though was saved by sheer luck. The cottages opposite are immersed in water and have had to be evacuated as they were last night.

Please any fellow Cumbrians be safe, thoughts are with you over the next few tense days.

Here's hoping both your sister and everyone else affected get through what must be a very horrible experience.

Speaking from first hand experience,(quite recently), when your house gets flooded it is one of the most emotional, devestating and huge sense of hopelessness I have ever experienced. I spent an hour trying to stop the water but it is impossible. You're fighting water and trying to save furniture and possessions. In the end you just have to give in to nature. No one got hurt or worse in my situation, but there always seems to be some poor soul who does not make it. A sofa or dvd player can be replaced.

Keep yourself and your family safe!
