Default flame wars

my knowledge on this subject is zero, but with time on my hands and at work unable to play poker ive been surfing and found this term being used in forums.
im an internet donkey ,been using the internet for 4 years just to play poker here, most other uses are alien to me.
could we describe this as to whats been happening here,is this to much of a taboo subject to discuss here, could we learn from it and put something in our tos to stop it happening here.
lets have a sensible debate on it ,and if a mod desides its taboo im ok on it being closed.

Yes, m8: flaming wars are frequent on many fora (such as many recurring other ailments: for ex what's called rotting - not happening here thanks to the great modwork -, etc.).

I use several of them personally (some where I look up things regularly, some more than actively) and profesionnally.

I have seen this happen quite often (less on the professional ones unsurprisingly)

I have nothing to add on the topic other than confirm your suspicion and congratulate you for your curiosity towards 'new' medias you are unfamiliar with, which shows once again the love, inspiring for all, you have for this place.
