Forum Games Threads versus Poker

I love to check forum before going to the tables - like to catch up on what's been going on - and then I keep it open while I play just to periodically check for new posts.

It seems that the majority of activity on the forum is on the various games threads (u choose game, music game, punch or hug, word game, yes no maybe, etc). My question to forum regulars........just because I'm curious.......are you playing these forum games AND poker, OR instead of poker?

I do Both, i don't realy play much apart from multis and i play real money a bit to, when i'm not playing fake money.

I probly spend a bit more time in forum than i do on the tables, but don't use forum when i play real money.

Very good question Jazz. I often wonder this myself. I too keep the forum open as i play, and always check for new posts. I sometimes partake in the games, but I get too bored way to easy to participate for more than a few posts in them.

Im interested to see what the other responses will be.

i think i may be the same as you, jazz,...check wheni first log on to see whats new,..then keep it open during play (especially during big Ts) to give me something to do while i fold fold fold....only a few of the games i really like and participate in,..

I admit it....... i am a forum junkie!!! I love the games on there, and i catch up with friends too. I play poker, but only when i know people who are playing.....i'm very shy you know! xxxxx

yes i noticed how many games are on the forum,and how much people seem to enjoy them..

my thought is perhaps games would be better now in there own catagory seperate from general discussion..

then general discussion wont get overloaded and the people who love the games can get to them better..

I tend to only play poker myself, but Adder was telling me that the forum is quite good sometimes. The trouble is I'm so good at poker that I always get to the final table and never get a chance to go into the forum.

Do you think that it is because the games are so popular, or because some people are spending less time on the tables?

US daytime used to be high load for people on poker tables. Although we are getting 50+ in the big t during that time, the rings and sitngo's are still very light (at least at blinds above 500) during the peak load.

not really sure of the answer to that..

just thought maybe with all the forum games that they might be better in there own section now..

i do no when i play a freeroll they can take ages,thats something i hardly ever did before the switch, so i'm spending less time on the rings and sit and go's now

I tend to be more on the forum than anything else. It's a very nice place to be at, very friendly atmosphere. Sometimes I'll youtube some of the songs that are brought up in the music game if I don't know them. When I do play poker though I still have the forum open to see what new threads have popped up.

I don't look at the forum when playing but check after played, a few times a day.
I like to watch the game as I play, betting and how hands play out.

I find myself on the forum more than tables nowdays.On old format used to be the other way round.I dont find the new tables as much fun or as friendly.Used to play a lot on minnie tourneys but sit & goes are either empty or you have to sit there for ages waiting for a full table to start.

great idea m8 the forums are taken over with games of one sort or another , a seperate area would suit everyone , some other forums i know also have a seperate area for jokes , Basically those who enjoy games can go to their own area ,& other threads are not pushed down the list

I think it is good to have the games in the forum. Although some are a little strange, it keeps the rest of the threads from a lot of spam.

Maybe that's why you keep going up and down in chips so much, to much going on and not enough concentration on the poker table.
