Smile Friends across the world....and happy children :)

Bear with me..this is just a half baked idea at mo....
But very much inspired my my georgous friends Deb and Missy, for their kind efforts to me,and my lil angel

We are all from all parts of the globe, thats what makes ow family so unique and diverse.

I dont know if you are the same, but my daughter knows all my friends on here,by funny tales i tell, she knows about the Rooface, whos been moaning(Reaps)..whos had a baby etc

My idea....
Would be nice to send postcards or something to anyone who has kids at school...would make their day and make them look cool as owt if they were doing a project or something...

Any thoughts?

Narr, seriously though.
If you good people come up with some text/slogan for a postcard, then i will do my best to come up with some images.
Only problem will be how to get them off the forum and into the post box

Hey all...to be honest i woke up this morning and thought why did i post that..had had a few beers
Was just in one of those mellow moments us parents get..ya know?

Glad people are buying into the idea, lets see where it goes..good on you all...

Just as an example, was thinking last night if one of us had a child or relation who had come through a bad time or had a real triumph in life,or needed a boost...and they got words of support dropping through their letterbox from all over the world....

Keep the ideas coming..love the STL idea

im sure if the postcard was made to a decent standard with a high enough pixel rate we could make a post card using microsoft publisher or free offrering from open office or something similer

then print on to thick card it could be done

My goodness Ulti....are you Einstien?????
you come up with this all on your own???
I am impressed m8 I dont get my kids that much, but they know most of you lot and i know that it would be special to have them receive a postcard from the far reaches of this world
would only be too happy to send to any that would not mind getting something from "Down Under"
so it does seem that Ulti IS a rocket scientist and his idea might just get off the ground

I think its the printing on card that will be the problem. Colour printer inks can be expensive and not all printer could take a piece of card without bending it to much or jamming.

Clare said to me "I think Ulti is talking about normal postcards like you would send from on holiday". I must be a bit thick because that didnt even cross my mind
Is that what you meant Ulti?

i use an epson r320 printer and that takes pretty thick card
i think a lot of printers can take thickish card for printing buissness cars that sort of thing
i suppose im lucky using this printer it uses 6 ink cartrages and i can replace 5 full sets for £20 using compatable inks
here is where i buy mine 3000RPM.com - Home Of Media For The Digital Generation - CDR, DVD+R, DVD-R, Cases, Ink, Paper and lots more!

but off the shelf postcards are cheap too so there is allways that option

Ok, senders could have a few options here;
Buy a picture postcard
Buy a picture post card and print a STL logo onto it
Print out a STL postcard design onto card
Print out a STL letterhead design onto paper

It should be fairly easy for me to create all these designs
