Hi,

Just thought Id start a topic about how long you have been playing poker for and what got you into it?

Ive been playing for just over a year, and a pop up started me playing

well i was slightly drunk one night and typed in free poker and op66 came up and the rest is history

i have been playing poker for about a year to 18 months.

Shrooms got me into it, i used to get annoyed the amount of time he spent on the pc playing, never understood the game, he used to make me take over when he had to do something, and I used to shout omg hes betting 50 for e.g help what to i do, or i would think ive got something, do i bet raise what lol, used to get in a right mess. started to learn it for myself, and got the confidence to move to higher tables etc, now mush doesnt get a look in these days, the tables have turned heheheheh.

i been playin just over 18mths, i typed in Free Poker, OP popped up, i joined.... i liked the way it all worked.... so i decided thats the site i wanna play on.... i have made many new friends through here.... and there are some who are the best poker friends you could wish for (they know who they are ) and i been here ever since.... even with all the issues OP has had, i stuck with it as no other site even compares to OP and the 'community' feel it has....

I played my first game about 3 years ago when a friend taught me how to play, but I only really started playing regularly about 18 months ago. Virtually all my poker has been online, but I have played for money a couple of times with the guys from work and managed to win both times. I cant say that the standard was that great, one of the guys thought QKA23 was a straight

i bin playing poker since the age of 11, many years ago

but didnt start playing online until just over a year ago- on a different site where i got banned for violating the re-loading t + c's

i shortly after joined this site, and neva looked bak

13 months ago. I decided to find a site and give it a try. Found OP and went from there. Never played a hand before then so first thing I did was read the rules and hand orders. I wonder if I'll ever get the hang of it lol. Also twice now I've registered for a game only to discover I didn't check to see what game it was!!!!!!, just assumed it was THNL. 1st time was Omaha and as soon as i got dealt more than 2 cards I figured something wasn't right lmao. The second time it turned out to be 7 card stud so I was about to apologise to all and leave but decided to do a quick search for the rules and give it a try. Only 27 or so entered and I came second. Played stud since and still haven't equalled that second place!

that why i started also,my ex let me play when he had to do something,so i blame him for thisit takes alot of my time and i cant stop

I have a lot of trouble sleeping, so started to watch poker on TV late at night. I watched, did'nt have a clue what was going on lol Liked it an started and to play for fun with my oldest grandson, who stays here every weekend.
Bought a little poker set, we had great fun, esp on holidays, were we'd have few games on the balcony before going out for the evening, he loved to win euros off me lol
I day last March 2008 I typed in free poker, this one said no download, which I liked the idea of (my son goes mad if I download anything )
I got my 1K free chips and started to play the newbies table, played for a fews weeks, up and down a bit.
I then had a look around and clicked on Mini's, that's when I stopped playing on the ring table's and my chips started to grow, the Big Tourney's I didn't even try for a few more weeks. I would look at the result's and see NoahsGrandad a lot up near the top or won, Danzi too.
I saw all the lists with all the big names on them and never thought I'd get anywhere near them.
I had no idea how you even got on them lol
I finished 20th in my first big tourney and loved it!!! so started to play them more and more, as they take an average of 2 hours, if I played them and the mini's I would have been playing poker and doing nothing else, so just played the odd mini to keep my chips up with the 5% tax every day.
I think I missed out on getting to know the people on here more, as I only played the Tourneys, so missed out on a lot of fun. Didn't even know about my profile page for months, joined the forum to get chat activated.
I love this place and you people and wouldn't dream of every giving up !!!

well ive been playing brag with my family for over 25 years. for those who dont know, brag is an english card game with many variations. but is very simular to poker. but when i bought my first lap-top, i was getting bored of google earth and ebay, and it just occured to me to give poker a try, so i googled free online poker. this place was top of the list. 18 months later i`m still here...
