Lets Stop Complaining About This Site

There are a few people not happy with the way the site is at the moment.Threads going up complaining about it been slow,crashing,folding winning hands just too name a few.Imagine all the people seriously ill in hospitals all over the world.People having their homes reprocessed cos they cant make the mortgage repayments.People starving,losing their jobs ETC ETC ETC.I could go on all night.These are problems people not this site.When you come on too play and the site is down for One reason or another,go and take the dog for a walk.If you dont have a dog,call into your neighbour for a cuppa and chat.When you come back the site will more than likely be up and running just for you.As for folding hands and losing chips,look the best thing about losing chips is wining them back.Remember that there are people doing their very best to run this site to the best of their ability and they dont go out of their way to make it difficult for anyone.It is also a free site,well the non gambling side of it,and as for the nasty people,bigits,well they are in the tiny minority and you will get them everywhere and no matter what site you go into.Lets stop complaining about this site and give the mods a chance ok...Lynda XXX

Lynda, well said and I couldn't agree more with you. People including me get way to wrapped up into this and you kinda lose focus of whats really important. You need to keep this in perspective. Thanks for the reminder since I myself have been in a tailspin of late and things just don't seem the same. Perfect timing in my case Lynda-thanks!

yeah your right about peoples real problems, but this is a poker site and when things go wrong you're entitled to have a complain surely, people get frustrated, it is a forum and there is more to it than games and jokes.
If nobody said anything how would they know things are wrong with the script.
There was a lot of people today who could'nt get on thier table to play the British Crown, since the last up grade, so there is bound to be people unhappy.

I agree with both Lynda and RockDiva. There is a difference between complaining and constructive criticism. We need to communicate the problems with the site but we shouldn't act as if this free site is some kind of entitlement and expect perfection. Make criticisms and suggestions in a constructive way.

I can understand that Rock and its happened to me lots of times also but its not the end of the world if we miss a tourney or Two is it.As I said people are not doing it on purpose and Iam sure the mods would love to hear from anyone who thinks they could do a better job....

yer ok.. there are more inportant things goin on in the world than a few lost chips but we come here to play poker.. this site has nuffin to do with every other problem goin on! we complain about the problems ON THE SITE.. not about politics! imagine goin to your local council complainin about this site.. they'd laff in yer face! so ppl are complainin here.. wer the problem is!
i guess our complainin is jus another of the many problems that need sortin

when i cant get into the tourny i dont think about sick people in hospital,and when there is something wrong people have to tell about it so they can fix the problemsanyway,i dont have problems whit this site anymore after i downloaded the new version of java

Also.. You postin a thread askin ppl to stop complainin jus shows how much complainin goes on.. Ther for showin how many problems this site has, and how many ppl want it sorted.. Alot of ppl could have jus given up and gone on to another poker site, but they can see how good this site is and want it sorted! Whats so bad with that?

i think its ok 4 people 2 complain if your comp went down at work ud complain so why not here nd also if nobody complained nobody would know what the problems r.
nd if it folds a winning hand yeah id b pissed even though its 4 fun, were all here to compiet. the last 3 tournys ive entred its took my chips nd submited me then when tourny starts it puts me on info page so i click game view nd it wont let me on 2day i came 14 in wombats nd i never even played.. this is realy anoying so im gonna complain lol.. no but realy it suckssssss

Im in total agreement hun,to be fair i was;nt impressed when this site 1st opened but its growing on me & im sure its growing on other ppl to.Of course there are problems, you have to grin & bare it, but most of all be patient ( if you love your poker like i do )

hey lyn, i do completely agree with u hun about the problems in reality..but this is one of the reasons people come on here, to get away from it all and have a bit of fun. i think u'll find that its us 'oldies' who do the most complaining, and u'll never understand why we complain so much unless u were here before the changeover..it was the most tremendous place in the world and we ALL miss it like mad. sure, its a great place to be for those who have not long joined, but for the rest of us, we lost a helluva lot of friends and things are just total poo compared to what they were so i think its understandable when people complain xxx

I would like to add that I work with people who are having there houses repossessed,debt, illness etc on an advisory basis and I dont think that Corkonianlynda should be making comparisons, patronizing poker players and generally stating the bleeding obvious. Of course those kind of problems do not compare to the problems of this site but people still have a right to there opinion and if they feel they need to complain then complain they should be allowed to do. Wasn't it YOU lynda that only the other day complained and rightly so about an Irish joke put up on the site, surely there are worse problems in the world (as you expressed) than that joke but you felt the need to complain.

I think as long as it is constructive then people should complain as the moderators would not be aware of the problems if people don't speak up. I believe they are doing a great job with this site, it is the best site i have found for poker but that doesn't mean it doesn't have problems and people should be allowed to air there thoughts/concerns, Otherwise it would simply turn into a dictatorship would it not....

Well said Sally. It's what we from the old site do and it's called venting. We love playing poker and I have been here for quite a while and made a lot of friends. This is what friends are for letting u speak your peace, getting it off your back. Of course it's not the end of the world, this we know but there is absolutly nothing wrong with expressing your feelings to one another. Guess that's why they call it a free world.You will get used to us Lynda. I remember the first time i played with you, I said grrrrrrrr as all us girls do if we fold and miss out on a good flop. You told me to Chill out! Maybe in time u will get to know us better.

Hi I Have read the last 3 posts and trying to think of a way to reply too then without offending anyone.First Sally I dont remember the way the old site was but it must have been one hell of a site.Its hard when you lose friends be it online or for real.I have seen many threads and posts where people talk about the old way.You wonder why it was changed so dramatically when it was so good the old way.I do hope you make more friends here and you think of them in just the same way you thought of your old ones.If its ok with you I would be honoured if you would consider me a friend and feel free to say hi anytime you see me on the tables or in chat.....Second Slowman...I was not patronizing anyone.Of course real life problems are different than the problems on here but on the other hand I have got messages from many members here agreeing with my thread.Of course there are a few also just like you that dont.No matter what you do in life you will always get people that complain.As for the Irish joke I felt it was right to complain on foot of a good friend of everyone here that was banned and unfairly in my mind because of a joke she posted that some people thought was offensive just a few hours before the so called Irish joke was posted.Third Rad...what i said to Sally is probably what I would say to you also.I didnt mean anything offensive when I said chill.Sometimes especially when players are going through a bad patch which we all do players say things that they dont mean and I find if you say chill or something similar in a nice way it normally works and you get an lol back.In fact last week a guy thanked me for it.I hope this clears up any misunderstanding and of course we do and will complain about things here,but before we do,lets think about it first and if we still think something warrents a complaint lets do it in a nice way ok....Lynda XXX

I understand and know that there are bad things and situations going on around the world and even on my doorstep. I come here as an escape from all that, so i can meet friends and have a game of poker and a laugh. It is only 'normal' for people to get a little annoyed or upset when things go wrong on the site........ it is a reflection on what we do in the outside world when things dont go right.
We are only human. ( well..some of you maybe !!!! )

Lynda read your post and it's not that we don't agree with some of the things you are saying. What we are saying is we are not children here and don't feel that we have to be told what to say and how to act on the tables. This is why we have table moderators. Telling someone to chill out cannot be taken in a nice way. Offering us advice on the tables is not a good thing and u should really just try to go with the flow.We love to joke around, chat it up and say grrr if we miss out on a flop but in no way does that mean we are uptight or for that matter really upset. It's just an expression.I play poker to relax and chat it up with my friends here on this site.We have lost some from the old site but Crinkle, Sally, Pam, Backdoorbetty,Starry, Diva and the list goes on are from the old site and we have know each other for a long long time.Just come and join in on the fun and we will have a much better time. See you on the tables. ps no offensive taken, too old and thick skinned for that.

Thank you Rad.I guess words and the way you say things might be taken in different contects depending on where you come from.Irish humour would be different then the UK or USA for instance.I know that cos I have friends and family in the UK and travel there quite alot.I could say something over there that would be quite normal over here and people would start looking at me wondering....and vice versa...you know what I mean....If you look at my original thread again you will see that I never ment other OP66 members to think that I was trying too treat them like chrildren or treat them any other way.I wasnt trying to tell them to play in any way or infact trying to tell them do anything at all.I certainly wasnt trying to tell them how to play poker.I agreed that the site is sometimes frustrating for some people,me included.You know as well as everyone that the mods play here too.Just look at their accounts and credits ETC.They just as much as anyone else know the problems this site is having and Iam sure they are doing there best to fix them problems.As I said in that thread they are not doing in on purpose and everyone is in the same boat from time to time.It doesnt really matter what I think about anything or anyone in OP66 but I did feel the mods on here were really getting a raw deal off some people here and if them people only knew how hard they worked and all the hours they put into this site, free of charge i might add,well maybe they would lay off a wee bit....I for One is glad this site is here and the fact I can come on here anytime I want 24/7,7 days a week and its all free of charge wow dont get many good deals like that out in this mad world.I do like to chat while playing,so I promise to choose my words carefully in future but I can gaurantee you I have not ever offended anyone either in here or in the real world and dont plan to start anytime in the near future.Thank you again and everyone else that took the bother to read these threads/posts and see ye all on the tables ok......Lynda XXX......
