| The amazing thing is a game 7 won by a road team. In any sport. You should check on the last time that happened. Very rare. GO PENS!!, job well done. Chipmonkey

| I spend so much time in the Detroit area.... I am glad I am not up there this weekend, they do not handle losses very well up there... lol. Congrats to the victors! Still a Red Wings fan, but not fanatical. (I do believe, however, that the Red Wings have more than 3 Cups under their belt - in this Millenium )

Steve, you are very correct. In Stanley Cup history (and this was largely discussed), the road team is 2-12 in Game # 7's, with Montreal being the last team in history to do this... the year was 1971. What else is ironic about that year? It was the last time until the Pens this year that a team replaced their coach midseason and the interim (Dan Bylsma has since been named the permanent coach) went on to win the Cup. Just a bonus piece of trivia to reward your interest! ![]() Cheers! --goldwing ![]() |

You have to start somewhere, Carmine... and with the wealth of youth and talent (same can NOT be said about the 'Wings) on this team, the Pens might just start to make a habit out of this! Pens fans certainly recall '91 and '92 with young Lemieux And there was a certain joy about winning it IN Detroit, given that Detroit did the same to us last year... just a return of favor... sadly, though, Detroit showed incredible poor sportsmanship. First, they wildly cheered when Sidney Crosby left the ice injured, in considerable visible agony, and second, they loudly booed as the Conn Smythe, and then the Stanley Cup were brought out... this did NOT happen a year ago in Pittsburgh. --goldwing ![]() |

Bruins? Gone... Pens win the Cup! Patriots? Gone... Steelers win the Super Bowl! Alright... I give you baseball (won't even mention the Pittsburgh entry!!!). Celtics? No Pittsburgh entry, but I don't see them in the Finals either... Easy conclusion... must be Pittsburgh --- the City of Champions! ![]() --goldwing ![]() |
