Members on leave

If you are going to be leaving the site for an extended period of time, for whatever reason, your account will be marked as banned. We do not have the ability at this time to give a custom marking to the account. Prior to leaving please clear your friends page and mark it as "do not accept messages" This will be a clear indication to the other players that you are on a self imposed sabbatical. You can also leave your own message indicating that you are out for a while and when you might return.

Today I have had a request to do so, and while most who ask for this wind up coming back, if you find a friend who is marked banned, I strongly urge you to check with that friend outside the forum to determine the circumstances. The moderators will not discuss a ban with anyone but the player.

This type of self-ban will eventually shut down your poker room account too.

So if we dont sign into forum and/or play on the tables for more than a month,is our account shut?Banned?Just wondering...i came on today to actually register for $1 outlaw tourn at 7pm server time but it stil wont let me register with my voucher or real money.Funfun lol...anyways...

No KC, not aware of that issue. Check with 24/7 on the voucher.

Just saying as we are getting into high vacation season some players have requested it, and that causes others to ask what happened. This will take care of it.

Tex, if requesting a self imposed ban how would we lift that ban at the end of the period or would we have to tell mods up front how long to impose it?
Is it a full IP ban? (just thinking about friends/family with accounts here too?)

i have questions too. if a ip ban is issued and more than one account is registered to that ip is everyone banned? also if i moved to live with a banned member am i also banned?

For self imposed ban the player can email the ban address from any email account and request the lift, however if for some reason there are additional circumstances, that will be handled on a case by case basis. The player can also just let us know when they will be back.

So assuming you move in with an banned player, you would be too busy to play poker...right?

what is the reason behind ,banning a person or his account,,because he his just on leave for a few months,y cant it be left open,,so wot ur saying if i go on a 6 week holiday,,when i come back,i have to reinstate my self,,if a person requests this ,thats up to them,, my reason is i shall be going away for 6 to 8 weeks at a time,,in the uk,but the point is i cannot get on the internet,,as there is no internet conection,,and the mobile connection does not work,,

What I am trying to do is ask that if you are going to be gone for a long while, go ahead and keep the postings to a minimum about where you are and what you are doing, so that speculation is at a minimum, post that you are going, or put a note on your home page, or just blank it out and start over with the design when you come back.

There have been instances in the past where someone has gone on holiday, or has been ill and unable to get on, and the rumors fly about it, and there is enough to do without unnecessary chases.

This is not a site rule, just a post from me with a suggestion.

this could also apply to me then tex, when i decide to have one of my 'study periods'? I've sometimes had couple month periods away because of exams etc, so when this comes I would have to make a thread saying so?
