Ode to the Credit Convertor

There was a poker site
That was a bit of alright.
People learned how to play
To make the tables pay

Then along came the credit convertor
Made me want to turn to murder
Bingo Players came
And ruined the whole game

Now the converter is no more
Players moaning galore
Learn poker now they must
Before their chippies turn to dust.

very good, very true its take a lot of patience to build your chips the old sit and goes were my favorite where you could earn good chips not no more tho sorry to say

thing is tho,you think you can play,and win. playing crap hands and getting lucky on free tables.

on real money, they "eat the fish", and your going to loose your hard earned cash.

there's nothing worse than, FOLD>>>FOLD>>>FOLD>>>FOLD>>>, until you hit a playable hand,but in reality thats poker..

if your playing more than 20/25 % of hands(with rubbish) you'll get found out and beat,anf loose..

play your own style that fits your game...but, be preparied for bad beats and ridiculous calls

I might have this wrong but it seems to me that the credits convertor came about as a result of the outlaws rpg. Either directly or indirectly. Either way it's definatley had a long lasting negative effect on the poker side of the site.

Yes I used it, but I like a lot of others I was playing on here before it existed, earning my chips the hard way (the proper way) and slowing learning in the process.

Getting rid of it is one of the best decisions made by the site in my opinion.

Also it has always seemed a bit odd to me that the site introduced a feature (the RPG) that affected the poker. I understand the desire to diversify but not to the detriment of another area of the site, especially the main area, which unless I'm mistaken is the poker!

Not often I disagree with you Bud but the whole thing I hated about the credit converter was exactly that.

In my opinion new players should learn how to win chips rather than be donated handfulls by [kind] benefactors believing they are doing them a favour.

I cant say this in rhyme but here goes on the credit convertor v reload debate.

The credit convertor managed to make every tournament affordable to every player, whatever their skill level.

The chip reloader does not do that. Yes I think unlimited reloads is a pain but they can only ever reload to a 1000 so shouldnt have a impact on tournies or sit and goes in time.

Im my opinion the reason we are seeing so much bingo is combination of a hangover from the credit convertor days where people converted credits to chips before site change over and also a lot of people profited from the change over of sites getting 5 million to play with whatever their balance.

I still believe that give it time and it will settle the people playing bingo will soon lose their chip stacks (some did after a couple of days!!)

Unfortunately the tournies are suffering while this is happening and people are leaving or just staying away from the OP66 tournies as a consequence of this and therefore so is the community.

Im my opinion the credit convertor was the worst thing that ever happened to this site. People who got used to having the ability to convert credits have never learned the hard way and dont value their chip stacks in the same way so will continue to play bingo until they run out or will have to learn the game we love POKER!

There are some great poker players on this site both old and new and we have a strong community so we will get there.

I am sure the unlimited rebuys are beyond peoples control and seems we are stuck with it.
Why are people so against the converter? At least it was limited.

Passing chips is a bannable offence and is being acted on if you think its happening PM a mod.

Theres no good reason to need chips passed anyway if you want to play a game with friends theres no difference between a 1k table and a 500k table.

And no things arent better yet, I said I think it will be given time.
