THAT SPECTACLE TOOK MY BREATH AWAY, I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY, I'D RECENTLY RETURNED FROM NEW YORK AND LOVED THE PLACE AND THE PEOPLE. TO SEE HUMAN BEINGS WITH FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES HURLING THEMSELVES OUT OF WINDOWS HUNDREDS OF FEET OFF THE GROUND TO ESCAPE THE HORRIFYING AGONY OF BEING INCINERATED WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO BEAR, I CRIED MY EYES OUT AND I DON'T MIND ADMITTING IT, ALL IN THE NAME OF RELIGION

THAT SHYT HAS A LOT TO ANSWER FOR

I remember putting the bbc news on, the day the twin towers were struck and they switched over to an American newscaster. His voice had been recorded during the unfolding of the tragic events and when the 1st plane crashed into the tower, I recall him saying omg its hit the tower. He thought it to be a complete accident and anyone else that also witnessed it must of thought the same. Little did he know until moments later when the 2nd building was struck, that this was no accident. Some of those poor souls that perished and the hero's that gave there lives to save others and the hero's that saved so many and survived. It was one of the most "shocking wave of events" that Ive ever seen..God bless all those that perished and all those that lost loved ones and friends. Steve.

I was in Cristiansburg,Virginia at a youth camp, when Elvis passed

As for the 9/11 episode,I was working construction in Sarasota Florida that morning.just so happens President Bush was there that morning as well,We were building a church across the street from the Airport there. We saw Airforce One take off with the President,It was one of the most awesome displays of jet power Ive ever seen. That plane no sooner got its wheels off the ground and it went strait up.I mean nose bleed strait up! I will never forget that.

i was young(er) when i saw about the 9/11 incident on the news one mornin, i didnt have the cynical opinions of a conspiracist then as i have now tho...

I do however remember the death of michael jackson, as I was leaving the pub quiz one night after it finished the announcer just said "oh and by the way, just so you know, michael jackson's died."

We thought was a joke at first but later was like "wait, he aint dead, he's immortal!" i guess for elvis tho it was on a broader scale? i wouldnt know im not old enough

as most of you, september 11th 2001. i was at work in a pub, it was about 1pm i think. my boss shouted from upstairs. she said put sky news on all the tv's. so me, the staff and punters watched as the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower, then we realised it was no accident. hell on earth.

Some things will stay with us as long as we live. For me it was watching my wife Jean gasp her last breath in her hospital bed in 1987. When it's so close to home it lives with you for ever. Poor girl had borne two daughters and a son then cancer cruelly took her in her forties, it just didn't seem fair.

I was a little girl. My mom was sad.
The date is itself is very hard for me to deal with. August 16.
That's the same date my father passed away.
Sweeney who is a BIG Elvis fan always says "That's the date that two great men left us."
