think he was running out of options
to replace tevez an ronaldo
with real madrid,an man city buying anything that moves.
owen was a class player before his injuries, dont think he will ever get back to that level, hope he has a good season an gets back in the england side for the world cup, were a bit short in that department if we are going to have a good world cup.

I think its a good move for both parties. Owen ( if he can get/stay fit ) has a chance to proove himself worthy of being included in the England Squad for South Africa. Fergie had to do something to bolster his squad after loosing nancy boy and Tevez. In my opinion a master stroke.

i think it is a great signing, i believe he is on a basic of 30k a week, with the potential of earning trebel that depending on goals/assists and apperances. he has lost alot of his pace, and he is, as we all know very injury prone. but he is still only 29. even if he is fit, i`m sure he`ll only start half the time, but i recon he`ll still knock 20 in, in all comps. all in all, a very low risk signing. and i hope he does very well...

Oh come on ? Owen may have had his injury problems but he's only 29.

"Never an England Player" ?? check his record hes scored 40 times for England the third highest ever , only Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Charlton have scored more times.

And I totally disagree with your comments about Beckham. He is still good enough and fit enough to play for England.

The under 21's did well to reach the final, but who in that team is close to even making the full squad ? I didnt see many candidates in the games I saw.

i hope he proves me wrong but i really do think hes finished now.
where as beckham has stayed fit & plays to a high standard, owen has had a couple of awful seasons at newcastle,i only think he was signed because fergie has lost benzema & probably fabiano.
but if anyone can bring back the old owen, fergie can

well ok, my thoughts, fergie bought in larrson(on laon), a geat move and he was 35..
helped win the title that year.

now we have probably the most talented goal poacher of his eara in owen.
lfc may have hit it on the head with "super sub"
but if he's fit enough, he can start as well, and he has alot to prove still to us all on his fitness.

i think he's the best "free transfer" in along time..
and he'll finally win the medals he deserve's

gotta agree,my fave england goal ever.
even if people think he is a poacher, thats what all goal scorers
have built there careers on, right time right place,a tap in is just has good as a 30 yard screamer.
