Shark attack

OK a guy gets killed by a shark. Obviously that's really tragic. But can anyone tell me what the heck is the point in spending god knows how many thousands of dollars on an air and sea search looking for the shark?????

To try and catch it and kill it?
To let everyone know where it is?
To.......well I don't know really.

The point is it's a shark. It lives in the sea. It eats things. It's doing what a frigging shark does!!!

you referring to Kyle James Burden who was killed by a shark in Bunker Bay?

there are many reasons not to go into the sea. sharks being one of them. you go in you know the risks. you cant blame a wild animal for doing what it does best. i will never be killed by a shark unless i coke on one eating it

Stevo, I don't know the answer... forced to surmise, though, and because as you say they do it all the time, I suppose they are trying to rid the water of a known killer shark... it is amazing the forensics that are employed both before a capture and after a kill to confirm that it was the killer shark... I had also heard in this instance they were searching for the remains (legs), though the experts there believed the shark made off with them (as opposed to having dropped them). If the catch the shark, and the shark had consumed the legs, they'll find remnants (to confirm). Gruesome stuff they have to deal with here, though.

But... I thought I'd add some scientific fact to this thread... it is a world-known fact that a shark will only attack you when you're wet!

i hear ya dads . i'll never take coke from a shark. my heart couldn't take it at my age anyways.
