Hey Peeps,

Last night i went to see The Specials at the Manchester Apollo.

30 years on they are still superb, what a great night - i was a young Rudeboy all over again

You git lol i only noticed they were touring again after all events were sold out, would've loved to have seen them.

Although i was a baby when they were making and releasing their music, i love the ska/2tone stuff, i would've bounced round like a loony.

Caught them on jools holland the other week, they were great.

Yer mate - i was only a kid then but loved all that two tone stuff and still do. I was 11 in 1979.

I found out about it in January and then forgot. Got a phone call on Sunday offering me a ticket for the Monday night - dead chuffed. Tried to bounce round like a loony but realised how unfit i am so enjoyed from just outside the moshpit.

Too be fair the touts were selling tickets outside at face value so if they are at a place near you (i dont know where you are ) then worth popping along to chance your luck

I was 1 in 1979, don't think my parents would've been happy if i had gone to see them then LOL.

Will have to check it out and see where the closest one to me is, i live in Devon, we tend to get forgotten about down here LOL.

There are rumours that they might be doing a new album, will have to keep an eye out for that.

yeh I missed them at the metro arena in newcastle, it sold out in like 30 seconds, but yeh I miss them days when ah woz a rudebwoy wi mah two tone suit ahn ah porkpie 'at. I was precocious as a child and what 11yr old wouldn't dig the specials n the selector n the bodysnatchers n badmanners n stuff.

I used to love The Specials mate. I have included their album 'The Specials' in my top 5 albums that shaped me on facebook. I never saw them play though. I was a 'rude-girl' back in the day myself lol. I loved 'Two Tone' especially them and The Selector. I saw Pauline Black a few years back now in Crewe doin an acoustic set as 3 men and Black. Still got a gr8 voice.
