Well its finally here. The greatest sporting event on earth starts today with the first day of the ashes.

Come on England lets give the criminal decendants an absolute whupping.

Just gutted that there is no Old Trafford test because for some reason all history gets blown out of the water and the ECB sacrifice one of their most favourable winning grounds and replace it with an unknown entity in Wales.

hmmm it's ok in small doses, i will watch it but get bored of it easily, but being the loving wife that I am.. or maybe the should be stupid? i only went and added sky sports so that my hubby can watch it, I was gonna get him a ticket so he could go watch it at leeds but we're away so he'll have to make do with the highlights for those 2 wks.

I added skysports as well for 2 months. Im hoping to get offerd tickets for Leeds. I was offered £80.00 tickets for Cardiff but its a bit of a trek

Dream on pommy - you are going to get smashed by us criminals. Old Trafford couldn't afford it and Welsh had money. That's OK we will beat England anywhere - even in another country lol.

After a bad start it does seem that Collingwood & Pietersen are starting to build an innings. Here's hoping

A pretty even first day. KP said that the England boys would've taken 336-7 at the start of the day but having gotten two solid partnerships in Pietersen and Collingwood and then Prior and Flintoff I think ti was a bit of a wasted oppourtunity. On a good note the ball was swinging for the Aussie bowlers so hopefully Jimmy Anderson can do soem damage swinging it both ways and if Hauritz can get the ball spinning, anyone can! Although he did get KP out, not through bowling brilliance, just through Pietersen's own stupidity!
