My daughter played Resident Evil when it first came out many years ago. Sweeney and I took her to see horror movies and yes, she had bad nightmares and sometimes I had to sleep with her, but she knew it was fake. She is a chicken like me. And like Crinks, we love vampire movies and series.
She is 20 years old now, has a great job and attends a University. She is not violent at all. She was a mediator in High School and received scholarships.
The problem is that some kids are excessive with the video game playing. They spend HOURS on it. You have to keep kids well rounded. My daughter still played soccer, hung out with friends, etc. Video games were NOT the only thing she did. Some parents use the pc, gaming systems and the television as baby-sitters just to keep their kids busy and out of their hair.
As long as you are a responsible parent and limit the time on the games and TV, they should be ok.

My only fear is that they will all become isolated from society and end up playing online poker in their old age.

Well i have played violent games since i was 7-8 when doom and quake came out and i have never hurt another person only when play fighting at school as you do lol

so no i dont believe it does,as random acts of violence has been around alot longer ,i have heard of kids well before any type of game that kill.

but yes as you have heard it can make a few people kill, but they maybe already would of in the first place.

but we have a our own oppinions and yes i dont think kids should play games but if there 15-18 they should know better.
