| Pocket 2s is a difficult hand to play. With the ante at 150 it looks like the latter stages of a tournament. With 22 I would either limp in hoping to hit, folding to a raise... OR go All-in and cross fingers. By raising to 5250 (3 1/2 BB) a decent hand will always call or raise. Post flop is always a worry if 22 doesn't hit. Edit:- or don't bet at all, obviously.

| I'm far from an expert but I think two all-ins would suggest that one of them should beat your two's, I suppose it depends on who the players are who went all in and if you feel lucky.

| The Pair Principle goes as follows: (Number of cards in deck higher than your pair)X(Number of players left to act)÷2= %chance someone has you dominated So (12X5)/2= 30% someone has a higher pair. This doesn't even count overcards (which is every hand) where you are only about 55% to win against any 1 opponent. So the value of 2s is only in sets or toss ups between only 1 other opponent one of whom is deperate. Given this I think the Cap'n makes the best point. Limping works if it's a passive table b/c limping invites more limpers and if you hit you will then more than double up. However, hitting is slim and you have 6.5 BB. A limp puts you down to 5.5 if someone raises (which they did) and 4.5 if you don't pick something up next hand in the BB seat. So you'll have less than 4 when you're on the button, which will hardly give you fold equity or put you in place for a nice sized double up. But you're right, death either way. It just gets down to luck of the draw that late in the tourney. ![]() |

| 22 UTG, low stacked is a bad place to be, normally a 3X BB raise would be ok 6 handed but it was half ur stack and deep in a tourney so really ur only 2 options are shove all in and cross your fingers (hope 4 onlt 1 caller and a coin flip)or fold it and wait 4 a better situation. once thee 3 bet came and a call tho ur we correct to fold in my opinion |

There's 150*5 + 750 + 1500 + 5260 + 2*(what you have left of 4584)= 17428 in the main pot for you to win, and only 4584 for you to call. That's 3.8:1 to call and that's almost a good enough price even if you KNEW you were only up against dominating higher pairs. Add in the rest of the range and honestly even 3:1 is good here. Added bonus of not being able to survive 3 BB left and going to be IN BB seat next hand. I think you had to make the call. In the heat of the moment it's quite understandable that you didn't. The fact that we're still discussing it means it's a tough one. |
