Aye that was bad. In hindsight though...had you led out instead of going for the checkraise, you probably would have won the pot there and then.
Wiz probably thought u smelled weakness on his bet and decided to make a move...

well the idea behind the check raise was to get more chips in the pot

I am guessing (purely a guess) that had you all-inned pre-flop, Wiz would've called with the Jacks... giving you the same result... some of this is pure conjecture, as your hand history didn't show the chip stacks going in... I am guessing (from experience!) that you had to do some chop-chop in order to get it to post (it was complaining about too many pictures!).

So you were UTG... I suspect (again, only a guess) that had you all-inned instead of slow-played to build the pot, you'd of had the same result in the end... the flop was beautiful... nasty turn of luck on 4th street, though!

few ways off looking at this

no pre-flop raise, paired board and a flush draw, wiz could have eaisilly put u on a flush draw, or even the 8, so jacks are hard to put down

OK lucky turn, he hit the set, then the river rubbed it in for f/h

aternatively folding JJ after ur check raise would have been a great fold, no 1 then would have know the turn/river.

and anyways wiz is a jammy git, at b/ham i flopped the nut straight, the jammy sod rivered me with a f/h grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Raise pre. These are stacking off hands and you stacked off. But you both gotta raise pre. This should have been all in before a face up card even hit the board.

well that's called being coolered getting AK vs. JJ (and for another thing just being results oriented), you wouldn't stack off deep stacked, just late in tourneys. But if you'd raised preflop he might have respected you on the flop. As played I think you did all you could do post flop. Wouldn't change a thing there.

Daddy,

As they say crap happens. I remember in one of the WSOP final tables several years ago one pro player did the same stupid thing with his JJs and got the lucky river and won it.

Here, all i can say is you got a bit greedy. You should've all ined after FLOP.

iv not said anywhere that anyone played it badly, with the hands we had and chip stacks we would have ended up all in sooner or later. just thought it was a odd hand. i managed to go from behind to ahead to behind again in the space of 2 minutes.

and the footy is tomorrow
