Like I said to you on the table, Tony --- we've all been "donked" and we will all be "donked" again. Take a chill, and we'll see you tomorrow!

Many people like to see the flop, they believe any two cards can win.
Obviously they are very poor players and will lose many more times than they win, but that's how they choose to play.
We just need to accept it and stop wasting time whinging about it.

if i were in songmasters shoes there i may well have called too... plenty of stack so that it wont hurt too much to see flop. lots of ppl calling the raise so i expect most players have got picture cards etc. which means more likely to be looking to hit the low cards/str8s on the board & ppl dont expect it., so if u really hit, u got potential to win a massive pot. wouldnt normally with 2/3os, but still worth a shot. ^ u neva wana b 2 predictable in this game ...

I agree. Not a good move by any means, but also neither is raising QTo with already plenty of limpers and many more to act behind. He also did have a sizeable stack. So not an amazing player but not the worst I've seen.

Good reasons not to call and equally good reasons to call. All depends on so many factors. CherryPie makes the case quite well. I'd say chancy but wouldn't call it donk play.......If it were me I think I might have considered calling and then decided not to........but then again on another day, in a different frame of mind who knows.

Tony, no point gettin upset on the free chips side mate, you will always get somebody calling with rubbish.Think of the superb play in the money tourney when Jimmy and i were watching, when you placed 2nd with a nice cash pay out, thats whats it all about bud

Ever thought that some of the so called bingo players and donks may be just using a tactic in certain games because they feel that it's a way to win that particular game?
They may well go away to the next game with different opponents, who are using different tactics, and play completely differently.
If you played them once and tagged them as anything, they have an immediate advantage over you the next time you meet them.
People who play poker a lot will know that you adjust your tactics to fit the game you're in. ( even from hand to hand )..
winning at poker once is very different from winning over a month or a year. Tactics are a short term thing,,strategy is a long term thing..
Observe some of the so-called bingo players or donks over a long spell of games. You might find that some of them are far better players than people give them credit for.
And calling what was not a huge raise with 23 os, in this instance turned out to be an inspired bit of gambling..he could have (and no doubt would have) folded if the flop had come down differently...I wouldn't be too quick to 'pigeonhole' him..I've seen him play and he is definitely not a complete novice..
No one can sit at a poker table and say 'please play the way I want you to, so I have a chance of winning too'. That would be simply absurd.Especially on the practice tables..it's where we are SUPPOSED to be learning ( practice )..i.e: making mistakes and trying out our chops..
if we were all good enough players, we wouldn't still be on them..
and,as someone else pointed out, raising with Q 10 is hardly what you could call great play..

Agree totally with you...he had the deeper stack and lets face it how many times have we folded crap cards to later see them win.A bit of a chancer but hey thats poker.
