| missed hetmans this morning because i couldn't drag my azz outta bed. showed up late to wish all good luck and stayed to watch. unbeknownst to me i would see 3 bizarre hands back to back. hand 1 seat 8 wins with set jacks. hand 2 seat 7 wins with set jacks. hand three is the daddy of them all. seat 5 dealt pocket aces, seat 6 dealt pocket aces . seat 4 dealt pocket kings..yep the aces got cracked. ab so lutely bizarre. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They are not that overrated, but in poker there is no absolute certainty preflop; in this case... Odds were (rounded up decimals) KK: 12% AA's: 44% each |

| Do you isolate players enough? I explain here the uttermost importance of that factor. If you have more then 4 callers you have less then 50% to win the hand independently of the holdings of other players... So slowplaying bullets (AA), for example, is rarely a good strategy and very often simply a bad one. Flabbergasting (and lucky) counter-example here (different than the first link) Of course you can loose with them and it happens to all, but if you play them consitently it shouldn't be and this is totally my experience, despite today's bad-beat (which was fun, since so unlikely). Good luck with your next bullets, wizz m8 ![]() Last edited by SternSwiss; 11-12-2009 at 08:38 AM.. |

| I agree slow playin aces with several people to act is a disaster waiting to happen. From my expirence aces or kings can get cracked but in the long run the odds will play out and the best hand will be rewarded. I try not to get upset if my aces get busted if I feel I played them appropriatley. I try not to get upset with bad beats as long as I get my money in with best hand. ( unless i think im up against a very strong drawing hand and Im not yet ready to gamble a good chunk of chips or put my tourney on line)

| Pocket A's can be a nightmare, If you don't bet 'em hard and fast. I learned my lesson with those bullets. They generally backfire on me. |
