Default Pure Donk Play...

And now the idiocy even hits the cash table. I could NOT believe how this hand played out ---- PURE DONK play... once he made the raise... and was then RE-RAISED (and not by a trivial amount)... he put his tournament life on line... and needed RUNNER-RUNNER to win... which of course, on our current script and has been well-documented (welcome to OP66!!!), he hits on... absolutely amazing... and these people call themselves poker players with this kind of play. Good grief!

i think what a handful of people the way they play they really dont care for the points of medals to me it also counts as not wanting to improve thier game.At wombats today i flopped top pair with Q kicker,i made asizeable bet on the flop based on the player who was in the hand with me called it.on turn i went all in, my kicker still being top card on the table,he called the all in to chase the flush on the river.he did hit it.so how much is enough?still 17 players left in the tourney.we all know to a large extent how one another plays but we also know we wont make donk calls unless we misread the hand completely which would be rare.ive never played with with this player before but watching him play i knew he was a chaser and was playing most hands and the git got lucky on the river 4 times prior to my hand with him.so my call was simple go all in i think i have him but didnt stop him from chasing as an all in is not something he respects..honestly ive seen a few players these days who play the tourney simply to suck out people not to win it.

Re-raising all in after the flop was crazy, but I also wonder what you were thinking Jim.

Did you have some sort of read on him, because with 2nd pair (even with the A kicker), I would have been folding to his 180 bet on the flop ? To be honest I would probably have been folding the A5 without a bet pre-flop.

Would be interested to see your analysis of your betting....

not much more to add than what is already there, Fozzy...

Part (much) of it was a table read... been up against this donk before...

But quite simply, after hitting the middle pair with an Ace-kicker, and (correctly) reading that he had nothing... and it was a silent flop, I moved in... that he raised me with NOTHING still blows my mind... but again, seen this kind of donk-ish play from him before.

What is a "DONK" ?

Is it related to a Honky-Tonk person?

I used it a few days ago cause it sounds cool to say not sure why though. Slang for something very bad, I'm afraid to know!
