| I had some spare time yesterday and was able to play in both the above free tournaments for the first time; how did they compare.... The $25 freeroll had almost 800 players and the early stages saw quite a few all-ins, but not necessarily bingo, usually with a half decent hand. The middle and latter stages was good poker with the odd big stacked bully, patience is the key against these players. Not many OP66 players so no chat. After two and a half hours I managed to come 7th and won....82 cents, lol. The Ultra Outlaws had around 60 entrants and is more of a 'fun' tournament. Due to the speed and rising blinds of the tournament there was lots of big bets and luck plays a key part. Lots more banter on this tournie (if you can type fast enough). Anyway after about 40 minutes I won this tournament and received a voucher for the Outlaws Tournament. I play this tournament regularly (usually paying $1.1) and the standard of play and banter is excellent. There were 7 players and after about an hour I was lucky enough to win it, winning $3 - $4 (can't remember) In conclusion, doing well in a freeroll with 800 other players is a great feeling but time consuming and financially not rewarding; the Ultra is more fun quicker and can lead to a good few dollars in your account. Phew, sorry to go on. ![]() ![]()

Great post Captain. I would have to say my experience of both tourneys would be very much along the lines that you describe. Definately the Outlaws tourney is my favourite. Unfortunately I can only play it at weekends due to the time it runs , but I have to say I fully agree with your comments. The freerolls are a much better standard that the ones we wintessed on the previous script. Well done on the Ultra & Outlaws wins

Very good day Captain. I couldn't agree more. I plan to get back into outlaws tourneys when the rainy season comes. Here in Seattle that is between November and June. I usually just hybernate, but this year I have poker instead.

good thread captain. I have only played the freeroll on this script 1 or 2 times and was out pretty early. on the old script i use to play the freerolls all the time and did pretty well most of the time. but like you say the cash reward isnt something to shout about, although, i enjoyed the challenge to reach the latter stages. as for the outlaws i think everyone who has played one will agree they are fun but equally serious games.

Neighter the freeroll nor Ultra Outlaw is great Poker in my opinion. In the freeroll ppl just go nuts and I now have some dude going allin every hand everytime almost every time I play. Typical freeroll. Ultra Outlaw is somewhat Poker the first 5min or so and then just a constant allin by almost everyone forced by the fast blind increase. That said UltraOutlaw is way more fun even though it is a bit like Roulette. I think Freeroll isnt that bad Poker wise once you get to the top 100 and better. In terms of reward Ultra Outlaw beats the freeroll hands down
