Question About big tourneys blind structure...

Hi,

I wonder if the structure isn't too fast at the end of big tourneys nowadays : As the number of players is going up we're seeing big tourney between 80 and 100 players now and the final table sounds sometimes more gambling than poker related. It's part of the game for sure but if you guys have time to, we could move the setup to a slower version perhaps...

Need your point there!
Actual blind levels are going up each 10 minutes, I could make it 15 or 12 perhaps...
an example :
After 2 hours with 10 mins per level we're up to level 13, if we choose 15 min per level that will forward us to level 9 only and to level 11 with 12 mins.
I could keep 10 min but change the blind structure too, it's another possible setup.

Actually here is the blinds setup :
10,10,15,25,50,75,100,150,200,300,400,500,750,1000 ,1500,2000,3000,4000,5000,7500,10000,15000,20000,3 0000,40000,50000

with antes :
0,0,0,0,0,0,0,10,20,30,40,50,75,100,150,200,300,40 0,500,750,1000,1500,2000,3000,4000,5000

Up to you to vote for a change or not, now you know all

'Lava

Well If You Were In A Real Tournament The Blind Vary From 8 Mins Up To 15 Mins I Say You Keep The Blinds At The Same Time Up Until 400-500
Then After That The Blinds Go Up Every 15 Minutes Until The End Of The Tourney.

I like it the way it is now.

The problem with changing to way you suggest is that the play will take much longer to begin with but it will still result in the same "gambling" problem at the end. Also as people are still a bit concerned over start time of big tourney, making it slower will put some players off or even make them full asleep while playing lol.

Just my thought anyway.

Love
Sarah

Well I Would Keep It As It Is As The Two Tourneys Could Clash And Could Create Another Bug For You.

I agree with your point sarah, I see no way to make it no longer and based more on skills same time... That's the problem I fear 3-3.5 hours will start to be too long

No worry worzel, big tourneys can run same time, no clash... but for sure it's not a good choice to start the second before the end of first one, if we'll go for a longer structure I'll need to push the second tourney at 5PM I bet (or start the first one one hour before again).

Everything possible but I agree actual setup is not such a bad choice between time & skill.

I Personally Think There Is Nothing Wrong With The Setup At The Monent Cos If You Win It, You Just Have Enough Time To Make A Cup Of Tea And A Quick Ham Sandwich, Maybe A LittLe Toilet Break.

just a thought-
the number of players is only going to continue to grow, how about 2 tourneys at the same time, one for us who can't seem to amass lots of chips, one for you poker wizards, witches, etc., and you can't play on both at the same time

That's a good idea for a next future
1k Tourney & 50k tourney running same hour could be a nice option soon I just fear we could lost something about community feeling : Actually the big tourneys are shaking everyone together and make people knowing each other even if they aren't playing at same level on ring tables & mini-tourneys!

What's your point?

I understand your thoughts and actually agree. I do like to sit with the big guys and play from time to time, it's a great time.

However, given that most likely more and more people will be signing up for these tourneys, something is probably going to have to change, right? So this was just one idea to try, see how people respond. It may in fact prove to be an awful idea. I myself would probably flip flop between the two when my chips let me do that. It would give more folks an opportunity to win a big tourney as well. Try as we may, the fact is we will never all be the same level of poker player, and that's fine. I guess it is like the design of having a chip limit to play on newbies tables, only now in a big tourney.

So, just a thought, take it, ponder it, adapt it, I know whatever decision you make will be great. It's been great playing here. Thanks.

It doesnt really matter to me but if you are going to make the blinds slower, please start the tournament 1 hour earlier.
