Exclamation About Big tourneys setup!

Hi all,

seems we have enough players to be able to setup big tourneys all day long now BUT I don't think it's the best setup for the great feeling we have here.
Setting up a big tourney each 4 hours would kill something I think even if it would be easier for everyone to catch the tourney hours.

Setting up another tourney for UK/Europe afternoon would lead us to 5 daily tourneys which is yet a lot. Setting up a tourney each 4 hours leads us to 6 a day, quite the same...
I really don't know what could be the best choice... Think long time run when replying please! Adding a tourney then another is cool but should we limit to 3, 4, 6 a day? No limit or even run 2 big tourneys same times with different buyins... ?

Many possibilities as you see
The UK afternoon test was a success yesterday...

I think one of the 15:00 or 18:00 (server time) should be moved, they start for me at 12 and
3 am and if i join them and win I will sit up to the next morning, so if you could move one of those before the 12:00(server time) would be great

I'd like to see another tourney at around 4am server time, as that would mean I can play in the tourneys late evening australian eastern time. (I keep missing the 2am one)

BlackLava, if you feel that 6 a day is too many, and people feel that 4 a day is not enough, how about a revolving schedule of one tournament evry 5 hours. This way, the times would change every day, and everybody would have their chance. All players would eventually get to experience the "good feeling". And I think they should all be 5K entry, so that ALL players with experience would be able to afford them. I know that I have been disappointed at times when I get ready to log into the BIG ONE, only to find that it was out of my price range. Yes, SOME will complain and beg for a higher buy-in, but, where is the good feeling for those who cannot pay 222K? Isn't the idea to get as many in as possible? If they need a higher buy-in, there is always the 500k Mistress.

If a 1 million mini tourney is made I think all the big tourneys could be 5k buy in

I would still like the occassional big buyin tourney, even if it's just once a week. I find with these tourneys no-one goes all in on the first hand and the level of play is generally higher. If we have 5 a day there will still be 4 lower buyin tourneys so everyone will still have an opportunity to play.

After seing what these 2 players above wrote, then I would say, along with my previous idea, make every 5th tourney a higher buy-in to give different time zones a chance for the higher one also. I sincerely think a revolving schedule would be best. Not everybody gets what they want every day, but they will get what they want eventually.

I agree with this carmine but i think the 1k buy ins should be scraped completely because the prize pool just isnt big enough for the time it takes to finish the tournaments. But i suppose it's good for those who just want points for the toplists.

I think you are never going to find the solution that makes everyone happy but I agree with carmine as the best time for me to play is always the highest buy-in and I cant afford it.

You are in an almost impossible situation as there will always be someone who is not happy.

I agree with Donkey. 1k buy-in is too low. At least with a 5k buy-in, most players can afford that. If they can't afford 5K, they need more table time before coming to a tourney. 5K will get maximum numbers at that time slot, no matter what time it is.

The rotation idea would be good and fair. I also agree with Famguy that there is a need for a high stakes big tourney for the very same reasons that he states.

no matter what is done some poeple will be happy and some will not be happy. i feel for you boss ouch. ican only make certain tounys myself because of when i work but there are so many tounys now that i can make one before work or after work. and on my days off i can make all of them if i can stay awake that long. i am happy with the way they are and if they change i am sure that i can enter enough of them to satisfy my need. like i said boss i feel sorry for you lol.

I dont see why more tourneys would affect the feeling of the site.

I like to play the big tourneys, generally with the lower buyins due to my chip count. Seems to me the more the merrier.

OK if you progress you are occupied for an hour or 2, but that only applies to the lucky few.

If its not a problem to have more, then personally I would like to see it.

Also if it affects the feeling of the site, you can always go back and reduce the number.

5 hours revolving is something interesting but there's two bottomlines :
- same hour each day is something easy to guess for everyone and our traffic is 40% from UK, big tourneys fit our main traffic needs.
- we haven't got enough traffic yet to launch a 100k tourney at australian time (so revolving setup would mean only 1k or 5k buyins and no bigger buyins).

Making additionnal tourneys outside the 5 hour cycle could be a choice too, like keeping the 100k daily one at 12PM as for now + 300k one same hour on saturday BUT it will run 2 big tourneys same time sometimes...

More advices about the 5 hours revolving setup? I like it too but yes I know as Michael stated we would have an unhappy crowd there!
