Question Bad luck or coincidence

just wandering ( mods included) if you've noticed that certain sides of a table or certain chairs you sit in you always seem to get good hands or some players constantly have good hands all the way through a tourney ? constant straights and flushes its annoying now because when someone gets on a roll theres no point in playing it makes it un fun because it seems like there unbeatable, i thought all cards dealt where random but are they pre selected for certain sides chairs or players to always have good hands ????

That's right, the seat on the bottom right will give you more straights, on the upper left you will have more chances to have a flush : I've worked hard on the algorithm to add those fun features, glad you've noticed it

Nah it's a joke offcourse
The algorithm is the same for all seats... It's the basis of all poker sites worldwide

Often at the beginning of mini tourneys you will see people registering and refunding constantly to try and get a certain seat because they believe some seats are luckier than others. I think its a load of rubbish to be honest but thats just me

Makes no difference where you sit...either your lucks in or your lucks out or you cant play poker And I think I recall Lava saying at one time that changing your seat is a form of cheating as it is part of the randomness of the game

why cant you change your seat i like sitting on the right hand side

ANSWER: The idea is to avoid players trying to gain a position advantage relative to other players. Perhaps there is a certain player that you do better sitting to their right? .........too bad! That is a part of the game, Random Seating. If you are the first player to enter the room, there is no problem at all with choosing where you sit. But other players following should allow the random generator to perform it's intended function.

Thanks Carmine

I just wish all people would adhere to this, Its really frustrating to see people dance all over the table...you cant do it in the Big tourneys so why bother on other tables, just a matter of following the rules..I dont see why people need to try and cheat a free system and if they dont like the standard avatars used then get one you like and upload it ...simple

with all due respect and not meaning to sound cheeky at all this (what carmine said) would be the same as why i originally put that some seats give you an advantage which then got dismissed by blacklava im really confused guys :S

yet again if swapping seats is cheating the system this must mean that some seats do give an advantage like m first statement said

You seem to be twisting the replies. Once more , for clarity.
It is not a matter of cheating the system. There are no advantages written into the scripts which would give one seat an advantage over another. Tournament seating is generated randomly with the purpose of no player gaining a position advantage over another player, by selecting whether they sit to the left or right of any other player. All random. Nobody gets to CHOOSE who they sit next to.

Sometimes I like to switch seats if I am having no luck (ie losing 50k after 50k) at one seat. Just as I would do in the casino, not meant to annoy anyone.

i personally think that if where you sit does not influence yor card it should not be cheating to swap seats no ?

It doesn't influence your cards but you may get an advantage from sitting in a particular seat. For example, if you know someone is an aggressive player you might get an advantage from sitting to the right of him, so you can see what he does before you make a bet.

Also, i've just read that changing seats could be a reason for the lag problem, so that's another reason not to.
