I think that pretty much sums it up Jimmy.

I think there needs to be a clear directive on how we are supposed to play these games. I didn't enjoy last nights game at all. There was too much confusion about how we should play.

Don't get me wrong, this is not sour grapes, the Ladies were the better team and deserved to win. But there were definately mixed messages from both camps about "playing poker in the true spirt" ,or whether it is acceptable to fold premium hands (which I found myself doing several times)when playing behind a team member who has raised the pot.

The TITANS tourney is in spirit a great idea and generates a lot of interest, but we do need someone to take complete ownership of it and state clearly what the rules are and what is and isn't acceptable

Other than that: absolutely agree with Jockney: the game was confusing and half pleasant for me as well (we discussed it with Jock while playing): double signals, different advices..... I eneded up not knowing what to play at all.

Still the banter and build-up jousts were fun!

Jockney... your points are well stated... it was clear in Titans #2, that the ladies fought each other out... apparently, from little I have read here, that in Titans #4, it was the men who fought each other out.

Let's face it... Titans is a VERY UNIQUE event to OP66. Where else do you hear about TEAM POKER?

Another clear point to highlight... the Titans has been VERY GOOD for OP66. The pre-tourney banter and the comradarie among the teams, both those playing as well as those on to cheer, is probably SECOND TO NONE on this site. Look at the chat room prior to the tourney last night and before each of the prior Titan matches! And look at the number of threads, heck we even had a captain paying CASH bounties on the heads of the opponents! Awesome event!

Congrats again to the GIRLS for evening the overall series at 2 a piece.

Now... to speak directly to your point...

I believe it is up to the Captains (Telboy and Missy have it next time, eh?) to:

a. Pick their teams (captains have employed a variety of tactics so far)
b. Communicate strategy (and team play CAN dictate not raising when all you have left in the hand are teammates)

Onward to the games! Looking forward to the next one! And still gutted that I was a late withdrawl (due to an unavoidable work-related matter) on this last one.

Jim just a point of clarity , I understand Woody is the next captain for the Guys , as Telboy has already had a turn. ( I stand corrected if wrong). So that being the case it's up to you Woody to pick the next mens team and give those selected team orders on how to play.

love the concept of this tourney,as already pointed out the place comes alive before it starts,the banter an now the cash bounties being offered adding extra spice.we must keep this tourney going as its probley the only time the forum comes alive.
just a little bit of tweaking with the rules is all thats needed.
as i see it at present with the registering all tables are unbalanced at the start,like stated before making it hard to team play when a player of the same team has raised,when you have a premium hand.so i suggest having the same set up with the top 4 from both sides qualifing for a final table show down with the captains on a sit n go table,where team play with equal sides
will be easier to control.just a thought

yes jockney i make woody our next captain for the guys,we have tried to run this on a montly basis with the agrreement of both captains on the date,then team selection can start,when me and sally started this we thought it was a good idea to change captains each time to allow others the chance to take on the hard work of organising the next tourny but im sure we are both willing to help our team m8s out with anything they need
