It depends a LOT on the skill level you're expecting. The biggest difference though is that you aren't making "big decisions" like in no limit (i.e., when you are getting short stacked you can't just shove a stack and leave it up to fate).

In general people will want to see every street early because the bets are so small, and since everyone else is putting in the bets too the pot gets quite big making it seem "worth it". Since people can't bet pot, you won't get punished for chasing as much. I would fold your usual junk hands even though you could flop big just because you won't flop well often enough to make it worthwhile.

So early I would play suited connectors, all pocket pairs (even 22), suited A, and maybe face cards (or at least suited ones). Then judge on the flop what hands you can make, how likely your hand you are drawing to will be the nuts, what the odds of hitting the hand is (basically count the outs and multiply by 2 for odds of hitting on next street or 4 for hitting in next two streets). If people are 4 betting preflop and capping it you might be a little more conservative on the range, if everyone limps looser.

Then when the blinds get bigger and most of the call stations and bullies get bumped out, you can start playing "good poker". You'll be able to start raising hands and it meaning something to opponents, or vice versa being able to see raises and calls and know what they mean well enough to guess hand ranges.

Anyway, in short this is my experience at very low limit tourneys. My advice would be a lot different if up against limit pros (and I don't know if I'd have as good advice). Also even with low skill it varies a lot depending on the types of players, whether they are either checking or calling anything being very passive no matter what or if they're raising and reraising non stop even with air. There are multiple types of bad limit players, and that will change your approach.

Didn't mean to go into one of those long winded replies again, but hope that helps. Good luck

yeah the second I posted I saw that it was in "our free online" section and knew what you probably meant.

along those lines... is there anyway we could get a mixed game to happen? that would be a lot of fun.

Forum Calendar Events occur every four hours and are designed as No Limit Texas Hold'em. You can book the tournament for yourself and your invited guest by applying for in in the calendar. There is not currently a fixed limit game set up for this. If you know who you want or how many you might want, look at the ring games tab and see if one of those tables will suit your needs.

I'll add that to the wish list for the next round of set ups if there is support for it.
