Give out OP66 AWARDS

wouldnt it be nice if op66 gave out monthly awards? it would definitly give the members more incentives to play more and also it will give us something else to play for as far as recognition is concerned. honestly it is my personal opinion that a lot of members here seek recognition through venues that are really not proper recognizable avenues. AND not to take away from the member of the month award which is a popularity contest i would suggest that op66 give awards for accomplishments as far as a members PLAY and WINNING % is concerned and i would not allow popularity to even be a small part of how a member will win these awards. i personally would like to see members strive to win an award that clearly denotes them as being the member who has been the best in a certain catagory. i would put all of the winners names and accomplishment somewhere on a page on the site for all to see and for the winners to see their name in lights so to speak. catagories that make sense to included in the list of awards would be the monthly chips leader--- member who has the most chips on the last day of the month at midnight site time. most chips won--- the member who has won the most chips in the month. most mutlti tables placements--- who won the most total medals in the month. Newbies chip leader--- the newbie who has won the most chips from the 1st to the last day(not their first 30 days here) tournys points--- the members who gets the most tourny points from the 1st day of the month to the last day.(the toplists do not do this and ill get into that after i write the catagories) well look there are a coupole other catagories that would be included and they should be obvious to any1 who believes as i do that they awards should be for a members competitive accomplishments and not their personal populsarity so ill stop with the catagories. BUT i know many of you are gonna say that the toplists allready do that BUT THEY DO NOT acknowledge the things about the accomplishments that the awards that i am proposing would acknowledge as far as the monthly totals are concerned and any1 who thinks that these awards that i am proposing are the same as the toplists leaders then you are wrong and it is too much to write toexplain that in details. anyway i think that it would be a fantastic idea and i would be willing to make custom avatars that the winners could wear for the month. NOT what the winners want,the avatars would be the same for each award eaqch month and they will just get passed down the line.
this site has and continues to grow up at a pretty fast pace and ill bet htta there are NO OTHER SITES that give out such awards as recognition for playing accomplishments by their members and op66 can definitly set a persidence here and be the 1st. ive been to a few other recently looking for someplace else to play because of the lag and stuff here but i have found that all the places that i have playeed are boring and hmmm how do i say this, ummm well they really lack the kind of atmosphere that i like to play in as far as chatting and being friends because its free and making friends is one of the reasonsthat i play here and those other sites it was impossible to make friends at all hahaha but what im geting at is this. this site could be innovative and other sites would wish that they gave out monthly awards and if thats not something that the seite is envisioning then it still is a great idea and it would cause a stir at the end of every month amoungst all of the members especially the ones that would be in the running for one of the awards. AS LONG ADS THE WINNERS ARE NOT DETERMINED BY POPULARITY THEN THESE AWARDAS WOULD ACTUALLY MEAN SOMETHING AND I KNOW THAT ALL MEMBERS WOULD BE CHALLENGING THIERSELFS TO BE IN CONTENTION EACH MONTH FOR AN AWARD.

Your point about recognition is very valid as it is definately a primary motivator. I think the leaderboards cater for this already though don't they ? But I would also agree that it would be good to have monthly achievers with maybe a link to a list of previous winners.

Would perhaps giving a prize to the top 5 ppl on the monthly list leaderboard be a good, satisfactory idea? Or mebe top 10?

Good idea that, i think somat like that would be a great incentive to have, and a good motivator to encourage good non-foolish playing.

Would prizes be awarded for kindness and courtesy???
