Monthly tournys suggestion

i have allready suggested this and lava said he would do this but not yet as other things were more important. and yes other things are more important and i agree completely with that but i just wanted to know if this idea was still being considered. and because there really arent many members here that were members when i suggested it and because many that were here then are not then i will throw this on the floor again as to lobby all of you to get on the bandwagon and INSIST that op66 SERIOUSLY consider this as it is a GREAT idea for a monthly tounry.
the idea is to have a ONCE A MONTH tourny where all GOLD MEDAL winners and ONLY gold medal winners get to compete in a tourny on the last or first day of the month.
with 5 tournys a day then that would amount to about 150 players and then you accoint for the ones that cant make it and the ones that win more then 1 gold and can only occupy 1 seat then the number wouldnt be that much for a tourny so it wouldnt take too long and it could be in the slot where a regular daily would be.
i mean its only 1 time per month that ther would be a tourny that not just any member can enter so its not like members would be unhappy that they couldnt play in the regular scheduled event cause its only 1 time per month and it wouldnt affect the multi table tourny schedule in any way .
the day and time can be picked by op66 and it should be the same day and time each month unless op66 would decide to make it on a saturday afternoon SITE TIME so that all members that get to play in it can most likely make it because its a weekend day for all. then that would make it the last saty of each month and since some months have 5 saturdays that particular one would have more members entered.
this tourny would be a most prestigious event and i will bet anything that all members will srtive to win a gold so that they can get in this event and it will certainly be the talk of the site as far as tournys are concerned and at the end of every month all members will know that this event is going to happen and it will cause such a stir that it will definitly make people come here to play more and have more of a reason to tell others about this site. ill bet and i could be wrong but ill bet that there prob isnt a nother site haveing such an event and it will be GREAT for the site and the members.
i know that i suggested this months ago and that lava is considering it but i posted this to try to cause a stir so that maybe it WILL happen and maybe it will be sooner then later.
if you would like to see a montly gold medal winner only tourny be played here each month then you need to reply to this thread begging op66 to consider it seriously.

Also the suggestion that this event would replace one of the regular tourneys would deny a lot of people the chance of playing. I know this sounds a bit sad, but some of us actually plan our day around the 5 hour cycle and this idea would deny non qualifiers of one slot, for a lot of people due to work or other commitments that means not having a tourney for that day.

I also agree with Fozzy the current structure is ideal. I'm sure the suggestion was made with good intent but I cant see it being workable in the format that you are suggesting.

elitist im sorry but on the contrary if someone who only gets to play in a 1000k buy in wins a gold then they get to play in this ONCE A MONTH tourny and that is not an elitist tourny and it in no way takes away from the tourny structure at all NOT IN THE LEAST LITTLE BIT because if there are 150 tournys each month then this would only be ONE SINGLE TIME and if you cant play in enough tournys in the 160 tournys that are played each month and this ONE SINGLE tourny is for gold medal winners only and all members dont get to play in it then its is ONLY 1 single event out of ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY and NOONE plans their day around a tourny that only happens once a month . im not sorry but i say that tjhose who oppose this have no VALID reason for oppossing it and the rediculious reasons that have been st forth by you oppossers are mundane and rediculous

Surely an invitational tournament could be opened just for the gold medallists. So except for monitoring who those medallists are and inviting them into the tournament, there is no need to set up anything exceptional.

As MV is so keen I'm sure he would volunteer to do this himself and then the site gurus can see what the response is like and take it from there if it is an overwhelming success.

Debates are all getting a bit heated these days it seems...MV...Its a good idea for all those who want to play in it...Its not for all those who cant, who don't have a Gold...

I love the game...hate elitism and players who are right up themselves...not one of us is any better than another...its a computer generated game...I'm sure its not random card selection like a normal deck...alot of computer generated "best" hands beating better looking hands often...

Lets just enjoy playing the game for what it is...A damn good game...I have a lot of respect for many players in here...yourself included...but its just a pastime that I've let take over my freetime...I'll get fed up sometime...but until I do, I play to enjoy myself, even against the constant All-In eejits with J,10's...It's the only way to learn...Calm down and enjoy yirsell m8...Lifes too short...Sox
