New/old script poll results, read here!

The poll is now closed, thanks all for your vote and point of vue.
We have 3 things obviously here :
1) We still have more unhappy players than happy players even if the numbers are going down
2) We have more and more players understanding that even if the new stuff isn't perfect, the old system will fail on the long run.
3) We have some players who really prefer the new script.

As often we are now facing a choice which won't please everyone, we could move back to old script, make a way to allow both scripts at the same time or stick with new one : In all cases there will be complains.

I love the old site,it was amazing, i joined 5 months ago playing every day and i have a lot of friends here, but we have 2 b honest, it was almost umplayable the last days.
that's why the site wasn't growing up (we still played because the sense of our comunity was stronger than lag i suppose...but new people doesn't go to a site not working..) and there was a lot of ppl complaining.
Then you give to us the solution, the new site, with no bugs.....but with a cold atmosphere, but 1 week it's not a lot of time to create 1, and atmosphere is something than you can't just transfer like money i think..

I am hearing you, those votes are something important but at the end I have to give more weight to the technical possibilities.
I know yet the moanings that will follow my choice and I know too many won't trust me on that but a 60/40 result is is far enough to continue our work making the new script match the old one.
That could be done by offering old script in addition of the new one but it would simply split the traffic which isn't a point for the community feeling and neither a way to full our mini-tourneys as before.
We could too push everyone on the old script and work on new one in order to move everyone only when everything would be ready but as someone else stated : Using old script is something eating all my time handling lags, refunds and more issues... Will be hard to work on the new script features same time!


Outside those comments on our future, I would like to come back on some abusive things I've seen on forum, I will include only one story because it's now really going too far : Roo I'm not banning you but you will need to explain us why we shouldn't!
-I've seen you moaning a lot of time on forum about old scripts lags and crashes, some of your words were yet going too far but our politic was to accept aggressive moanings...

-A few weeks ago you were spamming poems on forum, saying it was your work, people congrats you for that and then someone catched you : You were simply stealing poems on the net, not a single one was yours!

-4 days ago you've put a link on forum to another poker site just because you were unhappy, I've deleted it without any ban and only a fair message "no link to other sites please => ban next time"

-Yesterday you've been reported on chat talking about real money you've won on another site, offcourse giving the name too (PKR is a well known 3D poker money machine) :

That story isn't out of the subject, it's really the overall feeling I'm having since one week.
Complaining is ok and I've spent some good time on tables with you Roo in the past even if I haven't that much time to play nowadays, players love you for many good reasons but here I can't get why you are going that far.
It's like we are handling a small free restaurant where you're coming on a daily basis saying bad things and now going mad when we finally explain the restaurant can't be totally free. Same time you're eating in an expensive smart place and now forwarding our few customers there : Is that a fair and respectfull answer?
It's not about banning you here, it's really more human related : No I'm not living in a big house and using you to create my money machine, I'm not living in an house at all. Those recurring moanings and story going even further are far away to be a pleasing answer to the time all the moderation team is spending here.
It's a free speech human related place needing money to continue to live, the plan will never be to make millions, I just aim to developp a place who really care about free players, why can't people understand it needs some trust in our plans?

For granting more visibility to information topics and real poker related threads we will come really soon with new forums rules which will need to be stricly applied now.

Final Q as i asume you are sticking with new site ..... how long till ALL the changes will be in place and it is as much like the old site as we can get .

hi there bud. i read the whole thing and ill play on any poker anywhere as long as its on this site, whether in the end we go to the script or not i dont ind. as long as i can play i have no qualms. To me the new site is upgrade and if your going to continue upgrading, then go ahead mate. we all trust your decision and know that this isnt about money. and at the end of the day,like magno said, it is your decision; you know the techniqualities practicalities and all other -alities if what the two different servers can offer, and if you believe one stands a better chance than the other then we should all agree and go along with your decision.

Lava, my hat is off to you for sticking with your guns on this. It is easy for me and others to critize what has happened but in all honesty, this is (for most of us) a free site. Knowing a little about programming, you just do not have the resources (mostly time) to reply, fix and upload the new scripts. I have repeatedly asked to get the green velvet tables back-Sorry, I know that this can be done, but code needs to be written and probably on the back burner. Again, I voted no early on but have seen vast improvements over the pass few days. Just need to get the players to stop bitchen and start playing again and they will probably see wait times go way down sitting at a empty table.

I change my vote for the new script!

Fair enough! I know I've complained a fair amount, and I'm still just generally unhappy with the new script, and I'm still not going to play it. But it really has nothing to do with all the work and effort, and all that, and if you have to, then whatever you think id best, is best. It's just a simple fact I don't like it. It's like playing Mario 64 every day for 3 months, and you're getting good, you got almost all the stars.. then one day, it's been transformed into Super Mario Bros. 3.. still a cool game, all the cool characters are there, but it's just not as cool as the old. The site that a few people are going to totally sux arse, it's just the old script has a better feel I think. Oh well

i have been strugaling this week to see why we could not go down the advertising root and add a 2ed sever to the old skriped untill yesterday when it was pointed out to me that the old skriped cant be made to run on 2 severs witch is when i finaly see that the end of the old siat was going to happon sooner or later any way

the tremendious hard work he has put in over this last week,i can imagine it has been a very difficult week for him,as well as us

the brave (and in truth the only logical) decision he has made regarding the sites future.

yes he has stuck himself up there to be shot down,and some people will take pop shots at him over the next day or so..

thanks for the great work lava,

i'm sure there are many here that will pull together to make this work and soon this will be a faint memory when the new site starts to become a community again

You have shown us responsiveness, you have shown us understanding by letting everyone rant and act (at times) childish, while at the same time maintaining your goal and driving us forward through this stage of change.
As you and others have stated, the feeling is definately changing towards a more accepting attitude of the new script, and the need for it is undeniable.
Onward to the future...you have my trust and confidence that you have the best intentions for the FAMILY that you have started here, and that I am VERY proud to be a part of.
