Sorry you've come to this decision mate but i fail to see how you givin the forum the wide berth will help with anything.
The pondlife you refer to doesn't appear to use the forum so avoiding it seems a redundant decision.

I thought racist remarks or abuse was a permanent ban, people got banned for less. I was shocked to hear from CI about getting more abuse, some people are just so ignorant or plain stupid to think that this behaviour is acceptable. Well there was a game played were a player was abused and hassled that i was watching not by someone we dont know but by someone we do all know felt this was uncalled for and unjust.



i for one was going on to a player the other day on the big tbl KAY because the person was giving the other chips on a tbl,just over 2 mill in 19 hands,did YOU see it......

It's not about 'every little word' Aus. If people are being racist or abusing other people with foul offensive language blocking their chat will stop that yes, but if they choose to behave in such an inappropriate way why should they even be allowed access to the site?

I know you and the other mods deal with these issues using the powers you have, that's not my point. My point is that the 'punishment' is NOT adequate. The only adequate punishment for that type of behavior in my opinion is a permanent life ban from the entire site.

Why should the rest of us have to have accept anti social idiots like this being allowed to use the site. I'm sure someone will delight in telling me I don't 'have' to use this site and they would be right. I'm beginning to wonder if I want to?

lmao im sure i have been banned for swearing in forums and loosing my head.yet someone is racist to chinese/irish and they get a chat ban. as much as that annoys me its funny. i gotta laugh at that one really

I do agree with most of what stev is saying and personnally don't think turning his chat off was the appropriate call here. Do believe also that there is a huge difference between abusive and racism and thus should be dealt with differently. I also agree racism should not ever be tolerated and these people should be banned. Wow turning his chat off hmmmm. And yet Rich and QB, nicest ppl u ever want to meet got banned? So one can abuse u totally verbally but don't cheat ? Interesting?

Not wishing to add fuel to the fire, because I know there are some who love to argue just to argue, but this thread is getting out of hand.

I applaud the thought of opening this dialog to try and get the original offender to feel bad, but I can tell you that most of the offenders never come to the forum so it is only serving to allow others to vent. If that helps, so be it.

If you are the victim of abuse, no matter what kind, please report it to a moderator through PM or email support through the lobby. We will get the information and take action to research the complaint and execute an appropriate response.

I would like to clarify a minor point that was made; the FORUM including home pages and chat are part of OP66 and bound under our TOS and enforcement.

The PAY poker rooms are under the network and as such are bound by their rules. Our players are under our control as we have the ability to adjust player profiles, free chip stacks, turn on or off chat, grant avatar changes, research chat logs and take action against players who are reported or are in violation of the general rules. Chat violations at the tables, as far as I know, have always held a chat ban, not a full ban from the site. Being a foul mouth at the tables is not the same as cheating, chip dumping, spamming the forums or posting porn.

To review all the chat that happens on every table is not possible. We rely on you to report incidents to that we can try to maintain a friendly site.

If you are playing and someone has harassed you, if they are an OP66 member we can take action. No other network member should be able to be chatted with on the tables.

As to the commentary on the vagueness of the TOS and Site Rules. I agree, it is vague. That is so that the people who have been elected to serve as moderators can exercise their own judgment in dealing with each case. If a decision is made against you that you do not agree with you always have the opportunity to discuss it with the moderator who issues the infraction or escalate to another moderator or management. I am not aware of a single incident where, when questioned about an action a moderator was not willing to hear a player out and either reconsider or state the facts that lead to the infraction.

Infractions, mutes and bans are not a public voting decision, they are handled one on one.

i have noticed that the person i originally wrote about HAS viewed this thread. I have since played with this person and nothing derogatory was said so hopefully they've got the hint
with this in mind, and seeing that action has been taken in Irish's case, i request that this thread be closed or deleted, before it gets any worse.
