Sick of People Not Playing

Sorry but if your not going to play dont register today there have been 2 in Hets that never played a hand until the last 15 and one that didnt even bother turning up the entire tournament.


We all have times when we cant be there as in a sitation at home or work and should post and fold. The people who do it day after day should be taken off the tables as they used to be as its just an abuse of the system one person who never played a single hand got a 11th place in todays Hetmans that is just wrong!

They are a lot of us who support the site in all that they do and try and come up with new ideas Thebudddha, jimmysymtex, sally, Lfcfan , telboy, pocketducks, BBOB, myself and a lot more this just goes against everything we Lava, and the moderators try to do.

couldn't agree more cuddy, goes against the grain.The other i have a problem with (they will know who they are!!) that win a few hand near the begining,and have a fair few chips in front of them, then sit out for 45 mins or so then come back on and play the final table

Why worry about them ?

Raise their big blind, they won't be there long and some easy chips for you.

Though they will probably last longer than me, my first tourney for months and I think the dealer had it in for me, out in 40th out of 47, lol.

33rd over here foz, dealer kept winking at me as if to say "call that bet, the flush is coming...honest" dont chase! lol

as for those who sit out, it is annoying, but it's at their disposal to do so. Maybe it shouldn't be allowed - so what ru saying?

I'd just sit back, if they wish to use their initiative and 'cheat' to make last 15 for some points or even the final - and not play 'proper', that's their choice....of course it doesnt benefit them in the long run, i mean c'mon, if ur playing to win you dont sit out do ya?

Thats not the point just dont register if you cant play the entire game. If something comes up tell the table and post and fold. Its not rocket science, and people getting easy points day after day by joining the less popular tournaments and not playing should be ashamed of themselves.

Yes you can raise and they will fold but when they still have near maximum chips and then decide to play at the last table your normally lower in chips so they have the advantage which is totally wrong.

iv done it before and will do it again. if i feel no matter what i raise/call with someone low stacked will double up from me with a shade of luck. i will sit out to protect my chips from myself and their luck.

If an idiot wants to sit out it really is their choice, suz Hun, it does happen in Real Poker

it used to get to me but not now,seen some come in after 30 mins and say sorry and ask should i post n fold some do have probs some just forget and do other things,just sharpen your claws hun and hunt them down.

Yes it is up to everyone to play the game as they wish, there can be no argument to that. But we all know that some players are more interested in how far up the pecking order they are than actually playing the game to try and win. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to see their thinking, get a bunch of chips then sit it out till the final table. It may be a legal ploy but it marks the ones who use it as very sad people. If they were playing for a bank balance I could understand it, but just to see their names high on the toplist is very juvenile to say the least. I may seem naive but I can assure you I understand all these babyish moves and deplore them.

Absolutely right.

Many players sit out early rounds in big tournies like WSOP etc.

I would hardly compare us to them, but if it is acceptable at that level, then I see no problem here.

Same opinion than declan on the matter. And no problem with it (except during the annoying first hand).

Not to mention people who have connetions problems and the fact that sometimes such "ghosts" are very useful for a wombats to reach 20 players and hence be played instead fo cancelled.

I so agree, have fallen asleep myself and not played at all when i noticed the time. But to sit out and then jump in at the final table is disgraceful and they should be put on a timer and bumped out.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.......I actually feel your pain cuddy on this matter,however I consider it a style of play,and for that reason I dont have a problem with it.I rarely if ever see these players win,and quite frankly thats the only reason Im there.Just Win Baby!!!!!

I don't know about this one, Connection problems? family emergency that didn't happen before the tourney started?? Power surge? Anything, You don't know if they are sitting out to cheat or not, If its happening daily, not a prob, thats one person you dont have to worry about. If they want 1 or 2 points a tourney thats fine, I'd rather win a gold. . But i do understand where your coming from Cuddy, I myself have been out placed by sitters. But that sitter had to leave mid tourn.

much as it causes ill feeling within the community, I would rather have a table of them to get, e.g. Wombats started, than those with 5/2 suited or 7/2 os calling big raises

i think it should just go back to the way the original script had it,of course alot of you were not here,but it worked well, if you missed 5 hands in a row you were booted.you want to play poker play it then.im speaking for the op tournies,so dont compare it to real poker because this is not real money....big big differance.

i can see your point cuddy. i personally made a choice not to play the nytimes anymore on weeknites cause of mini me and i know i mite have to post n fold alot or be gone too much of the game so i only play it now on fri and sat if im home outta respect for the other players . but i dont mind bein a deadbeat if someone else is buyin the beer

i will register for wombats if i get the chance....mainly to make sure it does start for those that are there and also in the hope that by the time i get home from work i still have some chippies left so i can try to claw my way back into the game
it is not done to "glory hunt" points...i just love playing the tourneys but all of them are not good for us on the east coast of Australia
the timings are a tad awkward...wonbats starts while most of us are still at work and hets is at 11pm...you do well and it could be 1 or 2 am b4 you are finishing...and work beckons the next day
we would love to have one that starts at 7pm or 9pm our time but we cant so we deal with it
i have not hid the fact that i will log in for wombats so that 20 can be achieved....dont like it if i am sitting out???..tough...at least you are playing and it was not cancelled

every morning i log in here and every morning (recently) i watch as, with minutes to go to the close of registration, wombats tourney is still missing the required number of players to start.
yesterday with 0 minutes left there was only 19 players registered so i registered knowing i couldn't play a hand but thought 2k chips a sound investment so that everyone else could play. at that moment another player also registered so i had the opportunity to deregister knowing the tourney had the required number of players to start. usually when i do this i will announce to the table why i wont be playing. i was amazed, later, to discover that 34 players actually entered, that means an additional 14 players joined during late registration........so what did they do just sit there and wait to see if it was cancelled first before joining????
anyway.....i do that sometimes, not often, and i'll do it again for the good of the site and the players.......so shoot me
