sit and go/ mini tourneys.....

does anyone know why the sit and go tourneys are hardly being used anymore?

on the old script, the mammoth would fill up in minutes. i waited for half an hour yesturday, and not one person sat with me.

I'm getting fed up with playing bingo on the koth table....

Sit&go on old script were offering HUGE bonuses, that's not possible anymore because we aren't having the %5 loss as before!
On the other hand the sit&go visibility is bad compared to old script and names are missing (Names will be added again soon).

The lack of people playing sit & go is my biggest disappointment of the changeover. I only played in the mini tourneys (100K and above)and am left frustrated with the empty tables.
I think it would help if the games could start when, say, 8 out of the required players are at the table (as per old script).

same here, all i used to play were the mistress, twisted, baby mammoth and mammoth.

I have to agree with these comments. The old bazultra tables used to fill up immediately, there was also a very good community spirit amongst those who played there. It would be good if we could somehow get that back

true, but at least every time i get on, theres only maybe 4 with players seated,.... now , i realize that the times that m usually playing are not the highest traffic times, even if you double that number, its NOTHING like the participation on the old minis...

i agree, something needs to change!!, dunno what or how, but, it is sad that the only real viable option for a game these days is the "bingo" of the ring tables,..
dont get me wrong, i can appreciate them as well, but,.. we gotta get the minis bcak to life somehow!!!

in order to have minis running fine
as I said it needs 3 major improvments :
1) a better visibility in the game lobby
2) table names there
3) Turbo are here but named "/1" (one additional fee), it needs clear setup and ultra turbos too.

We can't add again huge bonuses so it make sense that even like that there won't be as many people than before on those sit&go! But that's the real poker setup, no 5% means something matching real poker.

I'm keep asking for those improvments and names should be back on soon, as this is something to be coded directly in game lobby I can't code that directly and need to pass through a tech (that was the same on old script bout the flash lobby).

As long as the head's up tables are still there I'm okay, but I do miss the old mini-tournaments.

HU tables will still here offcourse, the coders are working on multi-tables HU tournaments too.

I really am not bothered about the bonus' that the old minis offered, i miss the better standard of poker that the minis require.
but peeps dont seem to want to know, i was on koth the other day, and i asked if anyone fancied a 1 mill sit and go, no body was up for it. such a shame....

Hey BL the 'turbos' with the /1 dont seem to work anymore. Managed to get one in with Kev where blinds went up every 4 hands but since then still every 10 hands - and that was at least a week ago - I played you in one remember the same night but it was 10 hands with you 4 hands with Kev.

I agree that I miss old tourneys. I always look at the sit-n-gos when I first get on and the only ones with people are generally 10,000 and under. I've sometimes placed myself at a higher level table and have waited a long time for others to join, Once the game did fill up and I never realized it because I was playing on another table and lost my original 100,000 entry fee. I now don't sign up unless the table has a nuber of players already on.

I used to like playing the minis before as you got a better game than on the tables, I miss the bazultra that was my favorite , but whenever i check these there are only players on the 1 to 5 k minis

also, before, a tourney used to start before it was completely full; there would be a countdown timer allowing people to join in during like 1 minute, and then the tourney would start regardless.
getting that back would probably ease starting tourneys some.

I hate to contradict, but I don't think these are the real issues.

I agree that some might miss the huge bonuses offered on old script, but I think there are many who still prefer the play style, quality, and basic level of play of a mini far more than ring tables, and if they could be more certain of getting into one in a reasonable amount of time, would be more likely to play in them - regardless of the missing bonuses!

I also do not think that simply adding table names will improve popularity.

We thought the addition of turbos would make a difference, but the end result wasn't really turbos (some are 4 hand, but most are still 10 hands, and the time clock and time per player still slows play considerably).


I think the real issues that will enable sit-n-gos to gain in popularity again will be:
1) faster fill up time - maybe starting with minimum # of players and countdown like before
2) some kind of notification message system when mini's have players seated (possible automated messages in chat boxes showing mini's with seated players) or a standard process that we can use to communicate to online players that we'd like a game....can be very time-consuming to post in various ring table chat boxes, as well as chat room, as well as on forum, and even with doing each of those, no guarantee that you'll get a game started within an hour (esp 6 or 10 man tourneys)
