Slammers list / jim?

Hello all,

The grand slam winner list hasn't been updated for quite a while. Quite a few new slams have been made since last, and I am sure many people are a step away from the next ones.

Does someone know what's up with jimggoldwing, who hasn't been here in 6 weeks or so (and who updates the list)? I sure hope he is having good times without us lolol.

I was wondering if we shouldn't propose to make the list a site feature run by mods.

Anyone thinks it is a good idea?

Yes stern ive been wondering the same thing. A mod or someone else perhaps should start their own thread for slammers. I know of a couple of others real close to their own grand slam.

Ok, I spoke to Jim yesterday and he has no problem with mods taking over the slam's list.

I am sure with all the new slams, quite some people would be happy to have the list updated.


Jim is fine, he might resume a bit more regular play and has no intention (yet) to come back on the forum.

As the list is an unofficial list/top list it can be managed by any member..A new thread can be made and can be edited by the member as needed to update the list. The current list just needs to be copied from jims thread and updated.

I will be happy to close old thread and sticky a new one for anyone who wants to do it

I know you guys are busy, but slams have become an important feature of the site, one that people feel proud in achieving, motivated to compete for etc.

I wonder if it wouldn't be wiser to have it run by the mod team (I know you guys already have a full plate) instead of any particular member, so as to avoid a similar problem in the future.

If you guys don't think it's a good idea, Bbob has offered his services kindly...

if BBOB wants to take over the mantle then i'd say pass it over to him, not that i dont mind supporting him as any other MOD probably would, but just dont think have time to do it full time
