Default Stupid Play

Sorry im staying away from medal tournies at the mo as Ive just been in the British Crown and post and folded in disgust at some of the players. Going all in first hand with a 3 7, people not turning up etc if you dont want to play dont register it spoils it for the rest of us from now until something is done about it I will only be playing the stl and international and titans.

I know its not against the rules but it makes for a bad game and i for one am sick of it.

going all-in with 3 7 is a bit crazy especially if its done just for the sake of it.

whatever the reason behind these early erratic all-ins that seen to occur more and more oftern these days, people need to realise it leads to spoiling the fun or challenge for the others playing. i was always of the opinion that amongst the op players there was a common understanding when playing the op tournies we always played with regard and respect to others and the game. these op games were put aside for us op players to have a serious game to challenge for a medal.

many op players take these games quite seriously and others possibly dont. so obviously theres going to be a mixture of styles of play when playing these tornies. there will always be an element who are out to spoil, intentionally or otherwise, either way i believe the majority play a reasonable game with respect.

if one or two are out to spoil, personally i see it as an added challenge to get to the final table. albeit, very frustrating.

i fully understand your frustration, cuddy, and in no way am i trying to defend these type of actions, but when i register for a tourny, be it an op tourny or cash tourny, i always expect to come across some one whos out to spoil.

im not going to suggest what you should do, cuddy, coz you're an intelligent person and obviously able to decide whats best for you. but if everyone took the same line as you and decided not to continue playing the BC due to a handfull of spoilers, what point would there be for the like of me and others who try and keep faith and try and have good game in a fashion we're use to.

as for those who register and dont play, as far as im aware theres nothing that can be done about.

it would be good if you would reconsider your thoughts about not playing the BC ever again, and hopefully see that not playing would similarly spoil it for me and many others if you wasnt there.

Anybody else think this kind of thing is making the tournies less popular and thats why some arent even starting?

Just dont see these types of play your reffering to.Sure there are some spoilers who drop about,I dont deny that.Ive always seen them though, ever since I started playing here. One thing I do know, these players are almost never successful in a tourney.Do they cause us to be more patient? yep they sure do,but for me its just another challenge to overcome. As we all know one hand can make ya! or Break ya! Hope you continue to play these tourneys cause I enjoy a game with you as well as many others. Its not my style of play,I do have moments of aggression but only when the mood strikes,I wont condem this style of play because I think its their right to play as they wish.I just try to find a way to capitalize on there style!

WELL PUT CHUCKSTER! the spoilers can be a good opportunity for the good players. if you sit back & wait eventually you r gonna get them the spoilers & allinners very seldom win a tourney because they always get caught eventually! just wait for that great hand & cut em off at the knees & as i do after you have eliminated them say yes the muppets always get theirs in the end! dont give up on op tourneys eliminate the donkified muppets otherwise they win & op66 loses. as for tourneys being less popular & some never starting there are several reasons for that such as alot of good players have become frustrated & moved on to other things due to events in past year. but dont let a few muppetydonks chase you away CUDDY! it is annoying but it is a no limit game so they can do it just lay back & let em have it!

i agree and its almost impossible to bet someone from chasing. makes me laugh tho people complain about the rings and you see the same style of play in the tourneys

so agree with u cuddy, but I for one refuse to let them ruin it for me, so now I have learnt patience and enjoy the hunt for lack of a better term. If u wait them out they always over do it and eventually do it one too many times. These are OUR tourneys and I'll be damned if they are going to spoil it for me when I enjoy the batter with my OP friends. So do consider and come back.
